Positive or not?

Hi,
My partner and I have been trying to get pregnant for a while now.
I had a thick dark line on my ovulation tests for a few days.
We had sex on those days, so on the 29th and 30th.
That should mean it's timed well, right?
I'm sending a photo of the tests and hope someone can tell me which days we should have had sex.
Hope someone can help me out.

Best,

The test from the 29th looks really nice! As far as I know, you need to have sex between 24 and 48 hours after a positive test.. So 2 days in a row should be good. Get excited for the coming days I happened to use an ovulation test from Sensitest for the very first time yesterday.. But I think I still have to wait 10-13 days for my ovulation. Since I'm not sure, we started testing after 6 months.

    29-03-2016 and 30-03-2016.....are positive....
So from now on, make sure to have fun...because after an ovulation test has been positive, you've found your LH peak..
Then your egg will release within 36-48 hours and your egg will still be alive for 12 hours...
So lots of success.. And hopefully a big positive for you

    Hi anne87,
Thanks so much for your reply, it gives me a little bit of hope!
Now I’m really hoping it worked, it’s so exciting!
Testing every day and then you’ll have him in your arms, I hope it happens soon.

    Wishing you lots of luck!

Thanks a lot for your reply.
We were busy doing some DIY on the 29th and 30th, so I hope everything’s okay!
    I hope so too.

    Thank you!

Yes, it's exciting, huh? Phew, we've only been at it for 6 months but it feels like an eternity haha. I certainly can't complain when I hear and read other stories. I'll cheer for you and keep you posted if you want Would this be your first baby?

Yeah, it takes too long haha..
While there are a lot of people who take a bit longer.
    I'll definitely keep you updated!
Yes, that's right, we're going for our first baby????

Yeah, that's true.. 6 months is still nothing.. but your feelings and your head are often two opposing poles, haha...
When are you going to test, if at all?
  11. butterfly started this #12

    Not exactly!
I don’t have an idea yet, do you know when that’s already possible?
And I’m also too scared to do it, I’m afraid of a negative result...

Nowadays you can already get tested 6 days before your due date...
But it's best to wait until after your due date
  13. Anne87 #14

Yeah, I waited 3-4 days after my NOD but also just didn't dare to do it haha... Scared of being disappointed..
  14. butterfly started this #15

Yeah, that's exactly what's holding me back too, but it has to happen haha
I'm so super irregular with my periods that I'm not entirely sure when the day is that I should be getting my period.
March 8th was the last time until March 11th.
I'll wait a bit before testing.

I also read that ovulation happens about 14 days before your period starts. If I ovulated on the 29th, I'd get my period 14 days later, on the 12th. But then there was too long a gap, right?
  16. Anne87 #17

So March 11 was day 1 of your new cycle? Or March 12? How long does your cycle usually last on average?
  17. butterfly started this #18

March 12 was the first day of my new cycle.
Sometimes there are indeed about 30 days in between...
It’s all extra difficult with such irregular periods.
  18. Anne87 #19

Yeah, that's tricky with such irregular cycles. The test on the 29th was very positive, so I'd go with that. 29 + 14 = April 12th, yeah... I wouldn't do a pregnancy test before then to avoid any disappointment. But waiting feels so long You might want to read up on many forums that KV ovulation tests can show something quite early (2 for 5 euros). Any other symptoms?

Yeah, that’s exactly what I came to as well.
It’s still a while away, but I do want to wait until after the 12th week, indeed.
Last night when I turned over in bed, I had some discomfort on the left side lower in my belly, and also when walking. No sharp pains, more like a dull ache.
I was already getting myself worked up thinking it might be my period coming. But that seems so soon after my positive ovulation test.
