What can you expect from the maternity nurse?
Of course, she teaches you how to handle the baby and takes care of the postpartum visits (I think).
But what else does she do?
Greetings

    Hi Selina,

What does a maternity care nurse do? You usually arrange that beforehand. At 5 months pregnant, you have a consultation with the maternity care service. At least that's how it is for me... But this is just a general explanation.

    Wishing you a nice pregnancy...

    Best, Ju
Maternity care or maternity help is skilled assistance after childbirth for the new mother and her family. A maternity care nurse provides this help. She is sometimes present for several hours before a home birth and assists the midwife or doctor during the birth. After the birth, she is present in the household for at least 24 working hours to support the mother and baby.
She monitors the health of the new mother and baby and reports to the midwife or doctor if necessary. Her main task is caring for the mother and baby, providing information on topics such as breastfeeding, and answering parents' questions. The caregiver has extensive knowledge of baby care. She aims to strengthen and increase the confidence of the new parents. She also does light housework, receives visitors, and takes care of other family members if needed.

    Hi Selina,
As Ju also mentioned, this is agreed upon in advance.
She does light household chores: doing laundry and hanging it up, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the toilet and bathroom, caring for the older siblings... that kind of thing. I’ve even seen a maternity nurse take the older siblings to school.
The main task is, of course, taking care of your baby and you, and then the other tasks come afterward.
