And I also think it's a beautiful name, and especially a lovely one

I'd pronounce it as Fee.
I know several Fees with the following spellings:
Fae Fé Fee Fay Faye Fée
I think Fae is the prettiest spelling.

I pronounce Faye as Fee.

But I pronounce Fae as Fai.

My daughter is called Faye, so it's spelled that way and you're supposed to pronounce it as "Fey". She's actually quite strict about it, because she doesn't like being called "Fee". As she puts it: "If you were going to call me that, you might as well have named me Fee."

So the "Y" is always pronounced. Just say it however you choose to pronounce it

By the way, my other daughter is called Emily, and she's also strict about the "i", because most people say "Emely". And that's not very nice either. I find it difficult when people mispronounce my name too.

Fee, you know, just add one more sound after it. So more English pronunciation than plain Dutch "fee".
I don't really like the name itself. But of course, it's always very personal when asking people for their opinion on a name.

I'd say Fa-je because of the e.
For me, Fay is fairy.
