Floor, Ezra, Romée, ? And ?

ManonGuest ·
Hi everyone,
I'm Manon, 31 years old, and married to my husband Bart.
We have three kids:
Daughter Floor Isabelle
Son Ezra Benjamin
Daughter Romée Livia

And now I'm unexpectedly pregnant with twins! It's a girl and a boy. After we got over the shock, we're back to brainstorming names. Honestly, we're feeling a bit uninspired. We've gone through basically every site out there, but still no name. We like names that sound normal but aren't too common. Floor was an exception to that rule; we both just happened to always think it was a beautiful name.

So, my question is: do any of the names you suggest fit? Names that are just a bit off the beaten path:
Boy: Otis
Girl: Fenna Suus Vive

Thanks in advance for all the help!
Kind regards, Manon

    Floor, Ezra, Romee &

    Zoë, Marit, Moon ??

I find boy names a bit tricky. Ezra and Otis aren't really my taste, so I find it hard to come up with something else. While I actually love Floor and Romee! Funny, isn't it?
Most of the names I come up with are popular, like Fynn or Raf/Ravi.

But it's super nice to have twins! A cozy intention for you two!!!

    Thanks for all the replies!
@Anna Dané we both think those are really nice. My husband doesn't find the other names pretty.
@ii really beautiful names, but they're not on our list. Vivienne is on the list for a second name for our girl though.
@anoniem1 my husband thinks Moon is very pretty, I still need to get used to it a bit. And yeah, funny! Thanks for the ideas anyway.
@anoniem2 the names are nice, but a bit too common.

For the second name we always pick a name we just find pretty, but not as a first name.
The names currently on the list are:
Girl: Vivienne Faviënne Valerie Rozemarijn Madelief Frederique
    Boy: Samuel Elias

Thanks for thinking along and more options are always welcome!
    Love, Manon

What do you all like best?
    Otis Elias & Elin Valerie
Maybe Elin is really on the rise
    Otis Elias & Moon Valerie
We would pronounce it as Moon and not as Moen, how about you?
    Otis Elias & Rimke Valerie
    Otis Elias & Nim Valerie
The boy's name stays Otis, we're just not sure about the girl's name yet. There are so many beautiful girl names!
    What do you think???
    Thanks in advance!

I also think Otis is a super cute name, and I find Rimke really nice with it, as well as with the other names.
  9. zomaar Guest #10

Rimke, don't do it because of the meaning of the verb.

Glad Moon made it onto the list!
When I typed it, I really meant Moooon..

Though.. I also think Elin is super cool! But you hear Moon a lot less often than Elin..

Nim isn't really a name for me, sorry. And Rimke is just not my taste.

    Big adventures start small
On April 11st, Moon Valerie and Otis Elias were born after a pregnancy of just 26 weeks. Of course, we were all quite shocked. Moon and Otis are still in the hospital, and will stay there until they are a bit stronger. It's incredibly exhausting going through all this, but fortunately, things are going reasonably well with them so far. Moon is extremely light and small, Otis is a bit bigger. But luckily, Moon has already grown a little bit too. I just wanted to let you all know. Without you, we might not have had a name for Moon yet, so it's really nice that Anoniem suggested Moon.
Thank you so much for all the help.
Wishing you a healthy pregnancy. Enjoy it! Things don't always go as you expect...

Congratulations on Otis and Moon! Hopefully everything goes well with them, but your message sounds pretty positive anyway, luckily
Otis was actually our name for a boy, but we’re having a girl so we can’t use him unfortunately. Such a beautiful name , and Moon too! Special!

Congratulations on these two little humans!
  15. Emily Guest #16

    Congratulations, girl!
I hope everything goes well with Otis and Moon! I hope they grow well and become strong kids.
Try to enjoy it anyway, even though it's really tough right now.

Manon, would it be okay if I’m super curious and ask what kind of reactions you’ve gotten so far about Moon’s name? The name has stuck with me, and I’d love to know if you’ve had any nice reactions from friends and family :-) Thanks!!

How sweet all the replies! Moon is doing a bit less well at the moment, but luckily we and the doctors are confident she'll pull through. Otis is doing great, thankfully.
We're really enjoying the little ones..
@MamaN ; of course I can answer that. So far we've received really nice reactions to Moon's name. Many people find it sounds smooth, cheerful and energetic. A name that works for both children and adults. It's not everyone's taste, of course, but they feel it suits us and the other children well. They also often find the meaning beautiful, unlike Luna but rather Maan.
