Thies or Ties?

I have a question, I'm already overdue but I'm really torn: should our child be called Ties or Thies? We'd already decided on Thies for a long time, mainly because my husband finds Ties too "boers" (country bumpkin-ish) and plain. But the closer the birth gets, the more I find Ties to be the nicer name! Who can help?

This is a choice you can only make together with your husband. The pronunciation is basically the same but if I may give my opinion, I think the spelling Thies is nicer than just Ties. The name feels a bit more "complete" to me.
Wishing you lots of success with the final preparations and your upcoming delivery

Hmm, I don't share that opinion.

The logical spelling for Ties is Ties. I think his name is often written that way...
Only for Thijs do I find the H logical, because we're used to it. For all the other names, Tijn, Tijmen, etc., I'd just keep it simple.

I find H looks more "dressed up." And therefore more beautiful.
