7 days overdue

Hi everyone,

I'm currently 7 days late. I stopped the pill a year ago and have had very regular cycles ever since. The only catch is that my husband is infertile.

Being 7 days late gives me a lot of hope; I've been dreaming about it and even told my mom that I'm 7 days late. She says I shouldn't get my hopes up and should just wait for my period. I feel some rumbling in my lower belly, like I should be getting my period, but I've had this feeling all week. I'm too scared to take a test because I know I'll be disappointed if it's negative.

Has anyone here experienced being late, with an infertile partner, and still ended up pregnant? Should I wait another week, or should I take a test tomorrow morning just for peace of mind?

I'd love to hear your experiences.
Best wishes

Taking a test is the only thing that will give you real certainty. With 7 days late, you should have enough hormones.
Also, the question is how infertile your husband is. Does he have no sperm at all, or just few or poor quality ones? Because ultimately, you only need one good sperm cell at the right moment to get pregnant.

My husband, for example, has reduced fertility but still has enough sperm cells per attempt to have a chance at pregnancy. He once got me pregnant with the help of the medical world (by having the sperm cells inserted at the fertility clinic at the right time), and now I'm accidentally pregnant naturally without any help.

    Thanks for your reply.

My husband and I went to the fertility clinic, and it turned out there was absolutely no sperm present. So he’s not fertile.

In the meantime, I took a test this morning, unfortunately it says I’m not pregnant. So now we just have to wait and see when my period starts. In May, we’re going to Ghent for a consultation about TESE, our last chance to have a baby.

It’s so nice that you were able to get pregnant and that you’re now spontaneously pregnant with a little miracle! Congratulations!
