The chance is small, but there is still a possibility that you're pregnant. I'd definitely take a test. As for symptoms, there's not much to say. Many symptoms are also associated with PMS. Stress can make you feel tired. Cramps and discharge don't really tell us much, unfortunately. And so on. If you start paying attention to every little thing, you'll feel everything at once, so try not to get worked up and just wait it out.
The pill prevents your egg from being released, stops your uterus from building up mucus where an egg could implant, and thickens your cervical mucus, making it harder for sperm to swim. Even if your egg is released, it might have trouble implanting, and sperm might struggle to reach it. Hopefully, the hormones are working well enough for you so that nothing happens. However, there's still a chance, which is why the leaflet says you should take the pill within a few hours if you forget.
I'm wondering if it was really the first 4 pills of your cycle or the first 4 of a new pack. If it's the first 4 pills to start off, you're not always protected right away, which increases the chance again.
I'd definitely continue using protection this month until you start a new pack.
I'm rooting for you to come out of this with a scare and that you'll have a little miracle when you're ready!
Thanks for the info! I’ve already taken the first 3/4 pills of the new pack. I don’t need to get my period yet, but I am feeling tired. I just noticed I had a little bit of blood/discharge (brown/red).
I stopped using the IUD two months ago and should get my period on Sunday. My friends want to go out partying on Saturday with all the drinks that come with it. Can I take a test on Saturday? And how likely is it that I'd see anything then?
Natalie; so that's negative.
You always have one line, that's the control line. Most tests first turn pink before they become blank or a line appears. Maybe you tested too early, but for now you're not pregnant.
Yes, you can test on Saturday already. This is quite 'early', so if it's negative, that doesn't necessarily mean you're not pregnant. Officially, you're not overdue until Monday, so theoretically, testing then is the only 'reliable' time.
But in practice, it's often different. Many women test positive a few days in advance. For example, I tested positive 1 day before my missed period with my first, and more than 4 days in advance with the second. So it varies for everyone.
Yes, I’m going to do another test tomorrow morning. I called the doctor, and they also advised me to take a test, but I have no idea which one is a good one.
I took a test and saw a plus :-) . But...... That Friday I had huge cramps that made me think of the round ligament pain from my previous pregnancies (I have two kids: 13 and 7 years old). That evening I had really nagging pain and when I sneezed I doubled over from the pain. Saturday I tested again and got a plus, but when wiping I also got a piece of paper with bright red blood. After that a bit of pink mucus and in the evening light brown with a few brown strands. Until today I haven't lost any more blood. A tiny bit of brown discharge but super super little. My breasts hurt terribly. But I don't dare to be happy yet because of the blood. The uncertainty is awful.
I did put on my best performance on Saturday hahaha everyone thought I was drinking vodka spa red
