Still scared that I'm pregnant?

Hey there, future moms!

Some of you might know me—I’ve posted in 2 forums before, thinking I was pregnant. Now I think I really am. I thought the same thing back then, but it just didn’t feel right all that time.

I also had very little to no bleeding—just a neat 7 days, but very light, and a lot of brown spotting, whereas I always have red, heavy periods.

Now I’ve got more bumps on my breasts, and my areolas look darker.

What should I make of this? Does anyone have an idea? I don’t want to talk myself into being pregnant, but it just hasn’t felt right.

Hope someone can help me out.

Love,

One way to find out: test it!

Of blood taken from the HA, and then you'll have complete clarity

    Hey girls,

Yes, I took a test right away and did it, but now I don't know what to think because it's negative. Does anyone have an idea? Or is it really not like that? I'll try again next month then? And I only had brown discharge, so I have no idea what to make of this.

I had something similar to you.
I got it 2 days before my period was supposed to start, and it only lasted 3 days. For me, it was stretchy mucus, but red...
My test is also negative, and if it's not a period, I'm now 9 days late... I'll just wait and see, because I don't know what to make of it.

thanks for the reply, so I have exactly the same situation. I really want to get pregnant, so I think it didn't quite work out this month. I'm fertile from the 17th to the 20th, then I have my ovulation, my egg release according to my calendar. I think I'll try again haha.

I still have 1 test left, so I want to try one more time. If it doesn't work now, I'll stop and let nature take its course.

    I'm curious

Okay, yeah, I already have 3 kids... it doesn't seem very likely for me either. My boyfriend and I are doing it unsafely; he always leaves before the end of church, so there's a small chance. But I'll wait and see.

Hope everything goes well for you...
It takes a long time to wait, doesn't it?

    Greetings

Hey! Yes, I don't have kids myself yet, it's nice that you already have three! The thing is, I'd also really like to get pregnant. On the day of my ovulation, my boyfriend and I are going out for a romantic evening, so I hope that night is the one! It feels a bit weird because I'm 18, but yeah, that's just how I feel. On the other hand, I believe that sometimes you try so hard for something, like a baby, and you just don't get it. God plans everything in His own time, so on the one hand, I let nature take its course.

We aren't currently using any contraception. This is partly because I don't trust the pill, and my boyfriend is also... well, let's just say he's not exactly church-going, hehe. So there's always a small chance it could happen.

I've talked about it with my boyfriend, but unfortunately, he doesn't want kids yet. The reason I'm going ahead with this is that there were moments when we were sitting on the couch, thinking I might be pregnant, and he actually put his hand on my belly and said there was a little baby in there. He even said, "You're pregnant." He was so worried about the idea that I might be pregnant, and he reacted so well to the thought that I might be, even though I wasn't.

I'm having a really heavy feeling about this now, but I'm going to try one more time this month during my fertile days, hoping it'll be successful this time! After all, I'm turning 19 this year anyway, hahaha.

Age doesn't really matter much, I was also 16 and 17 when I gave birth to my first child, she's 8 now..
The reason I don't use contraception is that I can't handle the hormones in it... I had a copper IUD but lost it a year ago... so I don't trust it anymore... my boyfriend doesn't want to use condoms so we just take the risk that it might happen.
It's always lively and crowded here hihi

Hey! That's so nice to hear. Yes, I'm totally crazy about kids—I work with them, I learn from them, and I've been gaining experience with them for quite a while now. And of course, with toddlers, preschoolers, and babies too. I also know that if you want a child, it's for life. But I really want that. On the other hand, I still like to go out, but I've also wanted for a long time to feel like we're in the middle of our adult lives...

I really hope it happens this month. Seriously, I hope so. Do you happen to have any tips for getting pregnant quickly, or things to do before and after becoming pregnant? I'm trying to think as realistically as possible about what is and isn't possible.

Oh, I'll be online again tonight. I'm going to work in a bit. Love,

You don't need to use "u" (formal you), I'm only 26, hihi.
Well, as for tips, with me it always worked right away... I wasn't really focusing on it either, it just happened... I would say though, if you really want it, don't go out of your way to try too hard... I think that might actually make it more likely...

    See you later!

    Hey there

Thank you for your reply. Yes, work went well, yes that's true. I meant that singing from church indeed makes the chance smaller. It's tough, but I think we'll figure it out. I always tell myself: if it happens, it happens; if not, we just have to wait.

But I still keep thinking I'm pregnant for a reason because I'm losing brown blood and it's very little, and besides, it's more mucus-like. Sorry for the details. Also, it's like this: I suddenly thought my period doesn't run from day 7 to 14, but just 5 days with a very small amount.

I don't know what to think now because the tests keep being negative. Do you maybe have an idea?
I'm almost at my wit's end, or is this common?

    Love,

Hi! Yeah, that’s familiar. I also had a negative test this afternoon, and it was an early test, whereas yesterday the Kruidvat test gave a very faint positive. I’ve been getting headaches, and from time to time I feel little twinges in my belly or groin, but otherwise no real symptoms. This afternoon and just now, I also noticed stretchy mucus when wiping—now it’s just clear/whitish.

I don’t know what to make of it all... The tests I ordered will be back in tomorrow or Thursday, so we’ll just have to wait and see... It’s really frustrating not knowing where you stand... So I totally get what you mean.

hey, no, yeah, that's right. I've been having that weird feeling too now. I'm really curious what it is. On the other hand, I really don't know what to think. Hahaha, luckily it feels familiar. I'll just observe my body for a few days. I also got a sharp pain in my stomach today, one hard cramp, and then it was gone. That was right after eating. So, no idea. My body is such a mess.
  15. ikke #16

    Yeah, indeed.
I'm still waiting for my tests to come back, then I'll test again...and if nothing comes up, I'll just wait until my period is due...if that doesn't come, I'll take another test, there's no other option unfortunately...I'm already being careful with what I eat and drink...just in case it turns out I shouldn't be eating and drinking all sorts of things that might not be so good during pregnancy...I'm also being careful with paracetamol.
Normally I'd take paracetamol for this headache, but now I'd rather not...
    Just in case...

    Greetings

Hey, no, that's true, exciting though! We're going to wait and see. I have to take a pregnancy test again on April 3rd. If my period doesn't come, then I'll know for sure because I can't really say if this was a period of 5 days or not, honestly. But we'll wait and see together, haha! I'm rooting for you!

    Love,
  17. ikke #18

That's all good, and yeah, then we'll wait together... there's not much else we can do at the moment
    Greetings
  18. MomToBe started this #19

definitely not, we can't do that for sure. so we'll just have to wait and see unfortunately. oh, one more question if i may ask: how did your surroundings react when you were pregnant, and how did you experience it? were you happy or not at all.

love, if you don't want to answer my questions, it's okay! i understand that some things are private.

People's opinions were divided... some were happy and most were really like, where do you even start... I get that too, I was only 16..
People quickly form an opinion about you without even knowing you... a lot were afraid I couldn't handle it... but I did everything from the start myself and it all felt very natural.... I'm more scared now that people might say if it really is like that.... Of course I already have 3... what if they all go to university... you want to support them in that, it all costs a lot of money for 3 let alone one more.... I don't really worry about that myself... but those are people's opinions now already with my 3 children so that's what I worry more about... love
