Eon... Isn't that an energy company?... Just Googled it, yeah so..... I personally find it a bit weird.
Riv sounds quite tough to me. But it's also used for many abbreviations of organizations.

Eon sounds a bit unfinished to me too. I'd rather go with Leon.
Riv, hmm, not really my taste either. It actually reminds me of an abbreviation of the name Rivka.
You should do what feels right for you/you guys, of course. You'll probably think the names I'd choose are completely wrong, hehe. -

At Eon, I also thought of an energy company. I don't like Riv as much. Both names seem a bit contrived, like they're not real names. -

I agree with the comments about Eon.
Riv could work as a nickname, it sounds pretty cool, but I personally wouldn't choose it as an official name.
You could go with River (Phoenix) or maybe use it as an abbreviation of two names like Richard-Victor or something? -

I don't really like either name!
If Eon really stands for an energy company, I wouldn't personally choose that name because kids can easily tease each other about it.
The name Riv reminds me of a coral reef.
Maybe Rev is an option to consider? I know a kid named Rev and I think it's a pretty cool name. -
