Kaya, Kyra, or Kiara

I'd really like a name with a 'k' sound. My boys are Quinten (5) and Collin (4), and now we're having a girl. She has Down syndrome. I personally think Xiara is a very beautiful name, but my eldest son can't pronounce it yet. I'd really hate it if she can't pronounce her given name later on.

Kaya! What a coincidence that it's on the list.. I'm pregnant with a boy but if it had been a girl I would have named her Kaya or Kaiya. I think it's a really beautiful name!

But I also think Kyra is nice, but a friend of mine already has that name so that would be tricky. I also like Kiara. But Kaya wins

    I voted for Kiara

Kaya! I think Kaya is such a beautiful name, soft and strong at the same time! I also think Caya is a nice spelling. I don't find Kyra and Kiara so beautiful, not really my taste. I also don't think Kiara is a nice spelling, I find Chiara more beautiful.

I voted for Kyra. Sweet, brave, and feminine.

    Kyra

I really like all three names! It's also funny that your kids have different starting letters but they all have that 'k' sound.
Kirana (means sunbeam) is also a nice name with a 'k'.

Kyra or else Kaya. Smooth and nice.

Kiara is quite complicated to pronounce for a girl with Down syndrome and, besides, it comes across as pretentious and tacky to me.

Thanks for your replies! It's nice to read everyone's opinion and the thoughts behind them!!! I think I've made up my mind... To be continued????

I think Kaya is the most beautiful!

I already replied, but here's one more time.

I like all the names, but Kaya feels the most cheerful and feminine to me. I find both the spelling and the sound beautiful. For Kyra, I think the spelling looks better than how it sounds—I still hear 'kier' and I don't really like that.

I think Kaya is terrible, sorry.
It doesn't come across to me as a name for a girl.
I also think of pebbles/stone when I hear it.
But everyone has their own taste, of course.
I think Kiara or Kyra are much prettier.
    More graceful and feminine too.
My eldest daughter is named Yara.
    It's kind of similar

I think Kyra or Kaya is the best choice when it comes to pronunciation for the baby later on.

I find Kyra a bit softer and nicer sounding than Kaya. Maybe Kira as a spelling if she starts writing it herself, since that might be a bit easier?

If our youngest had been a girl, he (so she ) would probably have been called Kyara.
It could also work, but maybe it's too complicated for your little girl later on?

    Kiara!
