Hi everyone,
We like the name Femke for a girl. But we're wondering if this is really a Frisian name or if it's used in other parts of the Netherlands too. We live in the province of Utrecht.

    I think Femke is such a lovely name too! I live in the province of Utrecht as well, and I know three girls with that name. It works really well, even though it's a Frisian name.

    In Brabant it's more common. Not overly popular, just normal.

    I live in the province of Utrecht too, and I know three girls named Femke and a woman who goes by Femke. And there's also a Famke. By the way, I think Frisian names are really nice! Femke is a beautiful name too!

    Nice name, Femke. My sister, who is already 29, is called that, and we lived in Bussum then.

    Femke is a lovely name and works in all provinces! I just read that Femke is going to be the most popular girls' name of 2016. Just like Finn will be for boys! If you Google it, you can find this on various sites. It's obviously a prediction, nothing is certain. But you just have to like that or not mind it!

    Seems pretty strong to me that this name suddenly jumps to number one out of nowhere, but it could be because it's being manipulated by the media right now.
