I find Femme and Nila much nicer than Jodie.

I looked up the meanings of the names and Nila means "deep," which my husband doesn't really like. So he's now leaning towards Venna, which means "butterfly."
Jodie means "God will increase," and since we're not religious, that sounds a bit odd. Although it does make you think about the name itself.
I came across the name Lela today, which means "glorious."
So for now, it's Venna again, with Lela in the back of my mind..

I like Nila the best. Such a lovely, unique name!

    I really like Nila!!
Venna isn't as appealing to me; personally, I think Vienna is nicer
    But Nila is super!!!

Thanks. Does anyone else think the meaning is a bit weird?
Also, it's a Hindustani name, and we don't even have foreign friends (I don't mean anything by that).

People don't just look up the meaning of a name. You do that yourself when you're 15 or so.

And the name doesn't seem Hindu to me. Just beautiful, that's for sure.

That's exactly what I mean. I don't want her to get bullied at school over it or have vulgar comments made about "deep". But maybe I'm overthinking it..

    Bullying involves kids with everything.
A name, a bag, your hair color..
    You can't prevent it...

    Nila! Beautiful and unique name!
Meaning is important if it would be extremely ugly or weird. But deep? No! It's 'a' meaning like every name has one, but absolutely not something I'd think 'then I wouldn't choose that name'. Good luck!

Most people are going for Nila, then. I'll take it into account. Thanks, and if anyone wants to share their reactions, they're still welcome.
