Lize or Eva

Hi,

I'd love your opinion :-) ..
In a couple of weeks, my due date is for a girl.
For a long time, the name Eva was my number one choice.
I already have a son named Daan (a fairly popular name).
I still think Eva is very beautiful, but also quite a standard name..
Suddenly, another really beautiful name caught my eye.
Lize or Lise.
What do you think looks best?

Lize, well okay. Eva, you'll hear more.

Feline is also popping into my head...

Thanks Irma, it doesn't have to be uber hip for me, but I feel like Lize or Feline are just a bit less standard..

    Or Liza?

    Lize!!! Such a lovely name.
    Maybe Felice?

I think Liza is really beautiful, but like Eva, it's a bit too standard.
I'm leaning towards Féline right now, and then pronounced like that.. haha it keeps changing.
Lize is also very beautiful, but you can make quite annoying rhymes with it, I realized..

Do you think Daan and Féline look good together?

Daan is a short Dutch name, and Féline is more of a chic French name.

By the way, I myself have a French name with a hyphen, and my husband has an ultra-Dutch name.

    Elize

Pien, thanks for your opinion. Elize is lovely, but I know too many of them.

My youngest daughter is named Emma Lize (I wanted Lize, my husband wanted Emma), and now we're going with Daan
So we're pretty much on the same page when it comes to choosing names!
I wouldn't choose Feline, it means cat-like. And personally, it doesn't really fit with Daan either. I'd go more with Fé or Lin

    Julie, good choice, Daan.
It's a top ten name but I hardly ever come across it here in the area..
Just had a chat with my partner, but he doesn't want Lize..
I think we'll go with Feline after all, and it'll often be shortened to Fe
Both with a hyphen, but I can't get it to type properly

I think Feline is really sweet and sounds lovely.
It was also on my list.
Unfortunately, my partner didn't see anything special in this name.
If I were you, I'd definitely go with Feline.
I find Lise and Eva a bit boring,
but it's very personal, of course, when it comes to a name.
So yeah, follow your own feelings.
    I'd say Feline

    Thanks for your opinion, Madelene.
Have you figured it out yet?
  12. madelene #13

    Lief1234, it's nice that you're asking.
Yes, we finally got out of it now.
Surprisingly, it took longer with this pregnancy.
With my first, we agreed on a name the fastest together.
He came up with the name Yara.
I had never heard of it before.
I thought it was a lovely name right away.
    So we quickly agreed
With the second one, it took a bit longer to reach an agreement.
And now we really had the most trouble with it.
But in the end, it became a name
that he had already wanted to give to our second little princess

    That's great, Madelene..!!
And I see you're counting down?
Good luck with the last few weeks!

I think Felien is also really beautiful. It was my choice during a previous pregnancy attempt, but now, a few years later, I feel like it’s going to be a different name.

Isn’t it funny how your taste/feelings always change with each pregnancy? But especially, I find it really hard to find a boy’s name.

Lise is really mega popular here. I actually think Daan and Eva go well together.

Can't wait to see what it turns out to be :-)

Thank you dear 1234 Yes indeed, it's nice, I'm happy about it now too, and yes, these are the last few steps for me. Tomorrow I'll already be 36 weeks I really notice now that it's starting to get heavy. But that's logical, just push through the last few steps. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy too Pien, I find that weird too. For example, I used to have a strong preference for Rozemarijn, but now I never feel like naming my daughter in that direction anymore.

Good luck with the final preparations, Madelene. Time has flown!
  18. madelene #19

    Thanks, Pien!
    I'm due on March 18th,
so I hope she stays comfortable for a little longer.
It's pretty heavy right now, though.
