Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and already 38 weeks pregnant with our second child, a boy this time!
We've had the name Joah from the start, but we've always had doubts about it..
Who would dare change it at the last minute?
We're really struggling with whether to change Joah to Gio.

I'm curious to hear your opinions.

    Hey,

    Thanks for the reply!

It's so nice to hear that I'm not the only one and that you've never regretted it! Good to know.

Which name was the first choice and what did you end up going with?

No, we both think Gio is nice..
And Joah has always been a point of doubt for us. My partner thinks the name is nice but not amazing, and honestly, I feel the same way..

Still scary to finally make the decision now, afraid that we'll 'regret' it.

We had Ian in mind and ended up with Micha. Quite a different name, really...

I get why you find it a bit daunting, but that hesitation probably isn't there for no reason... I think it's just about switching gears/getting used to it.
And what if you both think Gio is beautiful?!
It only felt right once our son was born.

Oh yes, it's indeed totally different, nice!
Did it take long to get used to it?

Soon I'll slip up at the start haha
But you're right, don't doubt for no reason all through the pregnancy!

We're cutting the knot, it's going to be Gio Lev!
    Thanks for your help!

    Greetings

    Nice!
For us, it wasn't long to get used to it! Haha We didn't even have the time for that, because he was born three days later! After his birth, it was good right away!
Ian just didn't seem to fit with him (from our perspective)!

Haha, great! How many weeks were you when you gave birth?
I'm exactly 38 weeks today, so luckily they weren't born last week????

I'd just stick with Joah, I think it's more beautiful and chic. I totally get that you're second-guessing at the last minute: it's all due to the hormones.

Sorry, I just saw that you're already out.

    Haha, no worries!
Yeah, hormones too, but I just think this one is really beautiful. It’s a bit scary though, and it’s indeed not a super safe name, but we’re happy with it.

Great that you're out! Just call the little one Gio a lot in these last days. Then you'll see if it's totally okay.
Good luck with the final stretch.

    Tricky, right, those choices!
When you hold your little one in your arms, you just know which name fits them!
I definitely prefer Gio; I'm not a big fan of the name Joah..

I personally think Gio is nicer!!
I'd change Joah to Jona or Jonah.

Aaah, nice comments on the name!
    It really makes me happy!

I also think it's a super name, but keep in mind that a lot of people find the name ordinary or just plain stupid, so it's nice to read different reactions!
