Chinese gender calendar?

Hi!

Does anyone know if you should use the month of your last period or the month of ovulation for the Chinese gender calendar?

the month when conception took place. But I can tell you that it was correct for my first child but not for the second one, which I'm currently pregnant with. According to the calendar, I should be having a boy, but it's really a girl.

Hmm.. That's weird then.. Because the midwife says they base it on pregnancy starting from the first day of your period. So I would have gotten pregnant in December and I'd be having a girl. If I go by ovulation, that was in January, then I'd be having a boy. For me, it's a girl all year round except for January....

That's right, the month of conception is correct, but it doesn't work out for me either...

How funny that people believe in a Chinese prediction but not in God!
    They should be ashamed.

    Ooh Zahrah, don't go cycling...
Maybe TO just likes it - like a lot of pregnant women - to see what the calendar says. She's not going to buy a completely pink/blue wardrobe yet.

And Lins, indeed, base it on the month of conception. It has nothing to do with the duration of the pregnancy like they calculate it at the GP.

    Hi,

Sorry, I've been away for a while. Had the 12-week scan today and everything is fine so far

And yeah, what a silly fuss.. You're allowed to be curious, haha

Just a few more weeks and then they'll be able to see if it's a boy or a girl.
I had both pregnancies scanned at 16 weeks. Both were girls, and the second one is due in May.

That's so lovely! Congratulations!! I heard about the nub thing that they can now determine the gender with 75% accuracy already. I have a nuchal translucency scan on Thursday, I'll just ask if they'd like to take a look so exciting!
