Davitamon Mama Compleet

Hi!
I started taking pregnancy vitamins today. I have Davitomon Mama Compleet.
The problem is I can't swallow those big tablets, and I remember reading once that you're allowed to break them.
So I did that—I split them into quarters.
Does anyone have tips on this?

Greetings!

Hi, what do you mean by that? Of course you can just break them. No problem. But what do you want tips about?

    Hey,

    Ok thanks!
Can you maybe take them with some food (potato or a slice of bread) or just with water?
    Or maybe with soda?
    Hihi sorry, poorly phrased

Water seems like the best option, and there should definitely be info on the bottle about when to take them best (before/during/after meals).

I always take them in the evening around 9 PM. No special reason for that, really.

Yes, it says to take it during or before meals, and if you're feeling nauseous in the morning, it's better to take them in the evening.

Are they coated dragees? Then I wouldn't break them. They're coated for a reason...
And Butterfly, just take them whenever you feel comfortable.

Yes, they're round tablets with a brown coating.
I read on a site that someone had emailed Davitamon to ask about it, and you can just break them.

It's best to take them well before a meal with a glass of water, so they're absorbed best. The closer to the meal, the less well they're absorbed.

By the way, swallowing a big pill works best with a big gulp of water. Otherwise, you might end up choking.

    Good luck!

I also just take my vitamins when I remember them.
But if you're feeling nauseous, like I was at the beginning, it's better to take your vitamins with a meal. Otherwise, you might feel even more sick.
For the first 2 months, my gynecologist told me not to take any vitamins because of my nausea, except for folic acid, of course.

Okay, yeah, I don’t have any nausea yet, just a little bit now and then, but that’ll definitely come later, haha.
I’ll definitely take them with meals then.

I have a question: when can you stop taking folic acid? I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant.

I thought it was at 12 weeks. But just to be sure, ask your midwife, they should know.
