Good morning ladies,

I'm curious how you told your parents you're pregnant??
I wouldn't know what to do, because my mom will probably get mad about it......
I'm curious!!

Greetings

Hi Vlinder, why would your mom get angry? That's really not okay, and you don't have to agree with it. It's your life, your pregnancy, your baby, and your body. No one else has a say in that.

To answer your question: My mom definitely went off on a rant for a good quarter of an hour when I told her. It was more like babbling with "oohs" and "aahs" and even more "oohs." Then she went off to cry, but she was really, really happy

hihi yeah that's a pretty funny reaction then he.
I'm curious, we've been together for 7 years and have been living together for 2 years now and have been married for 2 months haha.
And my mom always drops little hints like yeah enjoy it while you can, and we're still young, and this and that pff
I'm already nervous haha I'll probably tell it in a few weeks...

My mom started crying right away. I first thought she didn’t like it, but she was just really startled and, luckily, thought it was absolutely wonderful. My little boy and my mom are also the closest of friends, and she babysits for a day every week.

    Hi Butterfly,

I actually think your mom will love it. It’s something special, always has been. For my first, I gave my parents a basket with rusks and two different colored mice. My parents looked at me like I was crazy, and just like with Lotte, ahhhh, oohhhh, not really, how cute, and tears ;-)!

    Good luck!

ok maybe I'm seeing everything a bit too darkly, but even when we wanted to get a dog, pff she was swearing and stuff haha.

I'll just let it wash over me..
Now just 2 or 3 more weeks keeping our little secret to ourselves and enjoying it!

    Hi Butterfly,

The first time they were absolutely thrilled (16 years ago, we had just gotten married) and the second time even happier because I had been declared "infertile" and this was obviously super unexpected!! And at our age haha.

My mother is a treasure but sometimes she did meddle in our lives and our daughter's. But at a certain point I was honest, said that I decide things myself about my baby, and the air cleared! Mom saw that I was mature enough (she was always quite protective and worried) and things are great between us now.

Don't worry too much about the reaction and enjoy your beautiful secret a little longer!

    Greetings, Dani

We just told them both times, didn't bring anything along actually because I wasn't thinking about it and was just so happy!
No problem, this was the biggest gift anyway.

Yeah, we're keeping it to ourselves for now, hehe.
She was just here with my sister, I think she has a suspicion because she looks at me differently. And my mom always figures things out when something's going on, haha.
But I could barely keep my mouth shut, though I want to tell everyone when my husband is around too.

When we got married, we had nice cards made for everyone and wrapped them up, but I think I should handle this a bit better.

With my parents, we told them at the first pregnancy already at 7 weeks, because they were going away for 7 weeks and we wanted to tell them in person.

With my second pregnancy, my mom called me. She and a cousin had noticed something in my face. But since she thought it wasn't true, she called to share this crazy thought... Haha, it turned out to be true! So now she knew again at 7 weeks...

    Ok haha that's quite funny.
A bunch of colleagues asked me 1 and 2 weeks ago if I was pregnant, but I didn't know yet at the time.
Yeah, my mom also looks at me in her own way like she might already know something from the inside haha

    That's also a great idea!

We quietly called my mom "grandma" when we stopped by. At first you didn't notice anything, but then it clicked. Lovely to see.

Yeah, that won't work for us unfortunately, because we have a dog and he already calls himself grandpa and grandma haha.
Maybe an idea to do something with that...

Hi! I went to a tearoom and gave them a card with a personal message on it. At a certain time, I met up with the parents and grandparents there to have a drink. They got the card with the message as a coaster, and of course, they were super happy

With the first one... I was really hyped, went down to the pharmacy super early and tested alone. It came back positive! I screamed so loud I woke my boyfriend up hahahaha.. and then I called my mom.. she didn't answer.. I think she had 15 missed calls :-P.. so the first happy reactions were over the phone.
With the second one, I had packed my positive test, went visiting, and she unpacked it.. you could see them thinking for a second and then they both hugged us really happily :-)
Now with the third one, I've already called... I'm just hyped if I get a positive test and want to scream from the rooftops haha so I grab my phone right away ;-)
