My sister and brother-in-law's son is named Tijn. We like the name Stijn for our son. What do you think? Do or don't?

I also think that’s totally fine!

I know someone who has a daughter named Zoë and her nephew is named Joey. I find it quite funny

Joey and Zoë sound cute hihi

I also like the sound of Tijn and Stijn, and as long as you don't pick the same name, it's fine right hihi

Well, my cousin has the same sounds as my name. But it's a different name though. Still, people often ask who I mean because of the same sound. Not very nice. But if you find a name beautiful, I say go for it. There are also 6 people in my husband's family named Jan. Maybe they'll think it's an honor

If it's really the name for you guys, I'd just go for it!

    Don't know why not

    Thanks, ladies.
Even though I'm still unsure if we should go through with it.

I think it works just fine, especially since each name starts with a different letter.

Sorry, I don't think it's okay. There's only 1 letter difference, and phonetically they sound really similar too.

I don't see a problem. Yes, the sound is the same, but one name starts with a T and the other with an S. Besides, Stijn is a normal, common name.

If you're still unsure, you can always warn them in advance that you're considering a similar name.

    Still looking for something else.
It doesn't feel right to me.
    Still have 5 weeks left.

    Good luck!

I wouldn't do it personally. The names are really close together. Also, I don't find Stijn that beautiful anymore, it's quite ordinary now. For me, it lacks a bit of flair.

    Maybe instead:
    Duuk / Duuc
    Rens
    Mart
    Jurre
    Jorn
    Stef

If it doesn't feel right for you, I'd indeed keep looking... Is it the "ij" in the name that appeals to you?
    Thijmen maybe?
    Or Marijn, Merijn...
