Ovulation after miscarriage

Jacqueline
Hi ladies,
I tested positive on my period on December 24th. Unfortunately, a week later it ended in a miscarriage. When can I expect my next ovulation? I have a regular cycle of 28 days. Last time I used Clearblue ovulation tests. I find them quite expensive. Does anyone have experience with the temperature method? Greetings, Jacqueline

Hey Jacqueline! That's so sad that you had a miscarriage! My gynecologist back then told me to expect it could take up to 6 weeks before my period returned, meaning ovulation could happen up to about 4 weeks after the miscarriage. Of course, this can vary from woman to woman! For me, my cycle (luckily) got going again quite quickly, and I ovulated just 2.5 weeks after the "real" miscarriage (the cramps and heavy bleeding)!

Indeed, as MavanMi also asks.. have you been to a doctor yet? Are you sure everything has passed from your body?
I hope everything becomes a bit regular again soon and that you can process the miscarriage well!

Thanks for your replies. Compared to my previous miscarriage, this just felt like a regular period to me. I had back and stomach pain for 2 days before the bleeding started, so I bled for 4 days and it stopped on Monday. I called the doctor on Monday, and she said to test next week to see if it’s negative, and then get a referral to a gynecologist. I couldn’t wait a week, so I tested right away and there’s no hCG left. So I’m hoping I’ll ovulate next week. We’ll see. I’ll keep you posted
