Double first name or sister-in-law's name...

Hi ladies,

What do you think of double first names?

In Belgium, the names Ella and Louise are chosen very often, so I'd rather not go with them, even though I think they're really pretty.

But what do you think of the combination?

- Ella-Louise

Or maybe:

- Ella-Noor

Or just:

- Fee (it's actually been my favorite name for years, but my sister-in-law has that name )

Best,

I wouldn't choose Fee if my sister-in-law was called that, that's just what I personally think, haha.
And what if you combine Fee with another name? Ella-Fee or something? I personally like double names quite a bit.

Ella-Louise and Ella-Noor are really beautiful. I think Fee is a bit short. Personally, it wouldn't bother me if my sister-in-law already had that name.

A double name and then a nickname as a given name?

A double name usually ends up being shortened anyway.

I think Ella-Louise is the prettiest of the bunch.

    Otherwise, maybe Marie-Louise.

Whether it gets shortened or not will become clear in time ;-) I don't think you can force that

Personally, I think Marie is prettier than Marie-Louise...

I think Ella-Noor is the cutest!

I also know an Ella-Sophie. I think that's really beautiful too.

Ella-noor can also work without the hyphen; Ellanor or Ellanoor. I think that looks a bit nicer.

Our youngest has a double name on purpose with a hyphen so they don't turn it into just one name. Of course there are exceptions to that rule.

The cb refuses to say her full name, so I just don't respond. When they realize they need me, I say, I don't know..... but .....-...... there's a hyphen there for a reason.

If Fee has been your favorite for years and the name still feels so good right now, why not? You can always consult with your sister-in-law, right? I wouldn't give up on it.

I'd say do what your gut tells you. Moms always know best!

Ellienoor is also a beautiful name!

You could maybe spell Fee differently, like Fay or Faye.

I wouldn't go for the name Fee. It's just confusing... I think Ella is a really beautiful name.
