Not sure about gender, want to know

Hi everyone!

I'm pregnant with our second baby and I'm wondering whether I want to find out the gender! We already have one child, and now I actually have a slight preference for the other gender.. Does anyone relate to this?

Since I'm pregnant with baby #2, I'm debating whether I want to know the gender.. I'm really scared that I'll be disappointed if I hear it's the same gender. I know the baby will be welcome no matter what, but that's my fear! And on top of that, I already feel guilty towards this baby because, obviously, I don't want to be disappointed!

That's why I'm hesitating: should I wait so I only find out when the baby is here, and if I've worked hard for it, it'll be great anyway! Or should I find out anyway??

I know I should be happy that I'm even able to have a baby, and I am incredibly happy about that!! So please don't misunderstand me..

I really hope there are girls here who relate to this and that I'm not the only one with these doubts and feelings.

I get your light preference and I relate to that. Whether you want to know or not is very personal. I would want to know with a second child. Then you can prepare the oldest and get used to it yourself. And by the time the second is born, any disappointment will have long passed. Ma

If you know it, you can better prepare yourself for it. I think it might feel a bit less overwhelming, or even just one minute, but then you'll get used to it right away.

I would do it if I were you.

If it's the same gender, you can prepare for it, and otherwise, it might come as a shock at birth.

I don't really relate to that. We have one 2-year-old boy, and my little one's preference was for another boy, but I'd find a girl amazing for myself, so I liked the one you found.

Coincidentally, we're indeed having a second boy

    Here’s a surprise now at 29 weeks
I have a feeling it’s another boy, but my husband thinks it’s a girl haha

With our first one, we didn’t know either.
This time I’d really like to know, but we’ve run out of names, so let’s keep it a secret for now

A surprise seems nice to me, and I can imagine you have a slight preference. But that's for yourself, and you don't need to feel guilty about it! You know for yourself that, regardless of whether it's a boy or a girl, they're welcome, right? And that's what matters! Enjoy and follow your heart, girl...

If you're unsure, don't do it. If you're afraid of being disappointed, don't do it. Once you have your baby on your belly after carrying them with love for 9 months, the gender doesn't matter as much anymore. You'll fall in love immediately!!!

Having a preference is not a big deal at all! Just let it be and talk about it.

What super sweet responses, it does me good! I'm still thinking about it, haven't figured it out yet...
