When is your NED? Maybe you can join in chatting in December if it’s in December, or in January if it’s in January..

Have fun on the forum

Love, Ju or well mavanmi

    Hi there!

5 days later and every day a flashing smiley? Anyone have experience with this!

    Happy holidays everyone!

I’m also surprised at how quickly people start using ovulation tests.
I get that the desire is really strong, but if you’re still young and healthy, give it at least six months. After all, how long have you been off the pill or another hormonal contraceptive?
Just let your body have some time to prepare.
I was trying for my second baby for half a year too... but six months really only means six little chances. I didn’t use ovulation tests back then... it seems so normal now.
I don’t mean this as criticism, but it really surprises me.
Good luck, girl, and I can’t help you with the winking smilies

When you've just stopped the pill, it can take a little while for your hormones to kick back in on their own.
I also did ovulation tests fairly early, after about 3 or 4 months, to see where my egg was in a short (23-day) cycle and whether I had an LH peak. I first used the dipsticks from 123thuistesten, which showed a clear positive. When those weren't available anymore, I ordered the Sensitest (sensitive) ones, and they gave a very clear rising line and a real strong positive.

    Hi,

I've been off the pill for a year and a half. I wanted to track my cycle, but I'm not really familiar with it, so I was advised to use ovulation tests to see when my ovulation is.

    Now I'm 6 days late and I usually have a 27/28-day cycle.
    The test is negative.
I've got a lot of lower back pain and cramps.
I'm waiting calmly (to the extent that's possible) hihi

    Thanks anyway.

    Greetings

    Oww, that sounds exciting!
  7. kvdd #8

You can say that, Nicole 1979!
    I'm curious!
  8. nicole 1979 #9

Good luck, girl! I'm rooting for you.

Only I wonder when I'll test positive. Patience is a good thing, I know hihi
  10. nicole 1979 #11

Yeah, indeed... I should have hCG after 6 days though.
    Otherwise, ask your GP.

Maybe a late implantation or something, I had a few drops of blood on Saturday, but if I'm pregnant, it's really intense. So it didn't match up.

    Who knows girls

    Marlies,
    What a story!
I agree with you that sometimes people judge too quickly.

    Greetings
  14. nicole 1979 #15

Hey, it's no judgment, Marlies. It's just something I wondered about. With you, there's clearly more going on medically, so I find it completely logical and understandable. What a tough time you've been through, seriously.

My brother and sister-in-law have been involuntarily childless after 6 years of medical hassle, so I'm definitely not the one to judge on this.

But I read a lot here about women aged 23 or 24, completely healthy, who just stopped the pill and immediately started ovulation tests. That's what my question was about... Why make it so medical right away? That's quite different from your story, right?

We all know what consequences anorexia can have, so it's great that your GP is guiding you so well here. I wish you lots of success and hopefully you'll have a nice positive test in your hands soon. Good luck!

Hi ladies, an ovulation test doesn't teach you anything medical; it just helps your body get to know itself... I'd say use them! I used them for my first and second pregnancies and got pregnant right away both times! And I can really recommend the Clearblue ones. No more wondering if you're positioned correctly or if that line is the one from a few days ago. You get a smiley face, so no need to second-guess.

I got pregnant right away both times too. Yes, it depends on many factors... But luckily, thanks to those tests, I didn't have months of hassle (pure luck too), and now for my third pregnancy I didn't use them and wasn't trying consciously either. Still took a chance and ended up with a very special pregnancy.

I think it's truly awful for people who can't have children or have extreme difficulty conceiving. But I also want to point out that you can use ovulation tests after 15 years on the pill just for yourself. I was getting stressed because I didn't know where I stood, and those tests gave me clarity. Good luck!!!!

Everyone has their own reasons for using ovulation tests, and in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with whatever reason you're using...
Hopefully you'll have a positive test soon!!
  17. Marlies #18

    Thanks. I hope so too.
I think I'll get the Clear Blue one too, because the ones from Action didn't help me out much. I didn't know there was such a big difference..
  18. nicole 1979 #19

Good luck! It was really something I wondered about—I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes; I’m not that kind of person, luckily. As I already wrote, I know how painful all of this can be.

    Hi everyone,
I’d love to connect with others who, like us, have a big desire for children.
    Best,
