Nightmares and weird, weird dreams

Do you guys also experience really weird dreams when you're pregnant? I have way more nightmares than usual, plus a lot of other strange dreams.

I actually wake up startled from a nightmare, and it takes a long time to fall back asleep. I don't think there's much you can do about it, right?

    Hi Ju,

Thanks so much! I'll definitely take a look!

Does it also work against nightmares and dreams? I do fall asleep, that's not the problem :-)

Just be careful with the sleep tea from Zonnatura. If you have high blood pressure, it can cause your blood pressure to rise...

unfortunately, nightmares and weird dreams are part of pregnancy.
i had a lot of trouble with them in the first few months too. we actually dream all the time, but we don’t remember much or anything at all. when we’re pregnant, it seems like we sleep less deeply, and that’s why we remember our dreams better.
some of my dreams were really crazy, like i once dreamed that my father-in-law wouldn’t even come pick us up at the airport. even though we’d just flown for 6 hours to show him our grandson.
it’s probably just due to our hormones.

    Lexy, I mean the tea...

Sorry, me too... My iPad autocorrected the word! It's known that tea can raise your blood pressure...

    I don't get it anymore :-)

If there's tea that helps me sleep more calmly, I'm happy to drink it. I'm quite the old tea addict anyway :-)

    Hi Liena,

Yeah, I had a weird dream this morning too. My ex-mother-in-law wanted to come over and start calling the shots again, and suddenly I hear my ex-father-in-law's voice, and I'm like, "Is your husband around here too?" And then my phone rings out of nowhere... how bizarre... Luckily it was just a friend, hahaha. But yeah, I think it's definitely the hormones. Everything feels so strange... What's going on in your body, of course, is active 24/7, even while we're sleeping... A lot is happening in our women's bodies...

Can't wait to meet our little wonder on Monday. Maybe we'll find out the gender then...

    Love, Ju

Isn't that mostly from burnt tea? I always thought so. I'm not sure though, and there was also something about too much green tea...

    Hi Arleen,

Not sure if the tea is for or against nightmares... I don't think so, but those relaxation CDs are really great. I have the Pyramid Power one myself and it works fantastically for me. Haven't had any nightmares yet... Just some strange dreams... I described them to Liena...

But anyway, what works for one person doesn't work for another...

I'm also a fan of horror/thriller movies, I find them totally great... So I'm not so easily scared... or anxious, I've seen everything once...

Greetings Ju and a happy pregnancy.. How many weeks are you...

It’s due to licorice tea or its extracts. That’s also in licorice candy, but also in many herbal teas.
I’ve had (very) high blood pressure since 12 weeks, for which I’m on medication. So I really can’t have herbal tea, licorice tea, licorice candy, or anything with licorice extract...

Hi Arleen, just ask your partner or gynecologist.. I don't have all the answers.. How far along are you in your pregnancy?

    Love, Ju
