Mother-in-law coming to the ultrasound

I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant with our second baby. Our first was born suddenly at 28 weeks, which put us on an emotional rollercoaster. My mother passed away when I was 14, and I still struggle immensely with that huge loss. I'd really like to share my feelings and experiences with her, especially now during this pregnancy. My mother-in-law is a sweetheart, but I'm not always open to her. I chose my partner, and I want to share this pregnancy with him. That's why I only bring my partner and our daughter to midwife visits. Now my partner is starting to press me a bit because his mother would also like to come along again, and I'm having a hard time with that. My question is: how do you all handle this? Do you bring your mother-in-law to midwife visits?

This is different for everyone. I didn't do it either. All visits to the midwife and ultrasounds were just with my husband. You should do what feels right for you. But you're already in the home stretch, girl. Good luck!!!

Nothing wrong with visits, we'll go with the three of us, my husband and mostly my son. Mom has already been there, and my MIL too.

But we're having the baby just the two of us, I personally feel it's something for two

Did the same with the first one.

My MIL always says if you want your mom there, I understand that, I'm your mother-in-law.

We have a good relationship with each other.
Sometimes you hear or see it differently though.

Being open and honest is the best.

My mother-in-law is going to come along after the ultrasounds to buy some stuff and will probably be there for the birth just like my mom. I love having two women around who’ve both given birth to three kids, but as soon as my husband says they need to leave, they gotta go hahaha.
For Joï, of course, it’s a completely different story since her mom passed away, but maybe you should open yourself up a bit more to your mother-in-law—not as a new mom, but as a supportive person with experience.
But if you really don’t want her there, you should talk to your mother-in-law about it.
Your husband can push, but he doesn’t know how you feel inside.

That's really a matter of feeling..
I think it's nice for my mother-in-law that she can enjoy it along.. in her time, those ultrasounds weren't like they are now
    special

For the ultrasounds, no problem... but not for the birth! Yikes, that would be too much for me....

    I’d actually like it.
    Not all the ultrasounds.
But maybe it’d be nice for my man too if the mom could be there.
    Only his parents live abroad,
so that’s not an option here.
