wrong dates?

Hi hi,

Could someone help me think this through....

Unfortunately, I started miscarrying on September 24th. Then I got my period again on October 26th. Last November 20th I took a test, I felt so pregnant. This is 6 days too early though. Immediately a very clear pink line ;-). Much more pink than the test from my previous pregnancy which I took on the day I was actually supposed to get my period. Because I was doubting, I took a digital test. This indicates 4-5 weeks pregnant. According to my calculations, that shouldn't be possible? Who can help me explain this to me hihi. By the way, I already have an appointment with the gynecologist on December 3rd.

    @Bianca
It's quite possible that the bleeding was implantation bleeding. Many women still get their period while they're pregnant.
Congratulations in advance, and I hope your OB/GYN can soon tell you with certainty how far along you are.
    Good luck with it!
    Love,

Bianca, first of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! It's also possible that your ovulation in your last cycle was earlier than you thought. That means you could be further along! (So you had a shorter cycle). Your gynecologist can definitely tell you how far along you really are!

Thank you all for your replies... The wait until December 3rd feels so long. Especially because there's so much anxiety from the miscarriage.

I know your fear, Bianca! I had a miscarriage on Oct 7 this year and am now pregnant again (right after)! I had my first ultrasound on Dec 3 I’m gaining more confidence in my body day by day, but it’s still extra nerve-wracking until that first scan!
Let us know how your ultrasound went?

Oh, how lovely that we're having our ultrasound on the same day! Congratulations to you too, of course! I still don't feel very confident; I keep going to the toilet to check if I'm losing any blood. And every little thing I feel is enough to cause more anxiety. How did you try to get over it?

At how many weeks did you have your US? Last time, the bleeding started for me at 5 weeks and 4 days, so that day I was really freaking out. I went to the toilet like 100 times to check if I was still bleeding... It didn't happen, and it still hasn't. The symptoms are also a bit more intense and different than last time. The anxiety is definitely still there for me too, unfortunately it doesn't just go away My real US was at 6 weeks and 3 days... that's the day after tomorrow, so that's another milestone! Unfortunately, I don't have a golden tip for you! Try to find some distraction, talk about it with your partner and/or here on the forum! Just speaking your fears out loud helped me a lot already! You can also send me a private message if you want to let off some steam! And just remind yourself "the chance is veeeeeery much greater that everything is fine now, than that it would go wrong again!"

    If you're showing 6 weeks digitally, you're actually already 6 to 7 weeks! :-)

    Congratulations!

@ Pien. I've already counted the weeks myself, which is why I came up with 4-5 weeks pregnant.

@ Suuske, I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and 1 day. So maybe that's why I'm so focused on those dates. But no matter how you look at it, I haven't passed the 7-week mark yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, and as you said yourself... the chance that things will go well is much greater!

Because of my previous pregnancy, there were quite some conflicts with my in-laws and my ex, who weren't really happy about the pregnancy. From the moment of the miscarriage until now, I haven't seen them anymore. Now, this makes a new pregnancy something to think about as well.

Indeed, distraction is key. We've been working on a big renovation since the last time to give the baby their own little space. We've been a blended family for over half a year... and it's definitely busier here at home than in many other households ;-)

Have you done anything tangible with your miscarriage, like creating something physical?

    Lots of love

Of course, we're absolutely over the moon.... We've known each other for almost 15 years, used to be colleagues. Then we both went our separate ways... And after my 12-year marriage and his 6-year marriage, we found each other again. And sigh, you know how families are... There's always something going on, right.... Nothing that drives me completely crazy ;-)

We're renovating the shed into an extra room for our teenager, really excited about adding a loft area.... And meanwhile, my man is laying new tiles in the bathroom.... Plenty to keep me occupied, I'd say.

I didn't get a good ultrasound last time, they just said things weren't looking good.
I initially didn't want to do anything about it, but I don't know.... I feel like I want something tangible.
I've now cut some reclaimed wood to length, like those big sign boards you see everywhere these days... And then this is the plan going forward.... Making tin stars on it. 5 larger ones for the existing kids and smaller ones for the star baby. It'll be in 3D and grey-white... I hope it turns out nice.
