Pregnant after the pill?

Hi,

My partner and I have been trying to conceive for a few months now. I stopped the pill in May and had a very long cycle afterwards, sometimes up to 69 days! If my cycle were regular and as long as that, I’d be due for my period in 9 days; my last period was on August 24th.

Right now, I’m experiencing a lot of unpleasant symptoms, but of course, these can mean anything. I have very sore breasts, feel nauseous often, and even the smell of food sometimes makes me feel like I’m going to throw up. I’m also urinating a lot. Secretly, you always hope it’s pregnancy. But since we want it so badly, I’m probably imagining it all.

Anyway, my question is: how long did it take other mamas to get pregnant after stopping the pill? And did your cycle get back on track quickly?

For me, it took 2 months after stopping the pill. I had been on the pill for 8 years then. Maybe you could take a test anyway, since this cycle might have been shorter than your previous one! Good luck with everything!!

Oh, and my cycle was back again right away, 28 days, just like it always was before.

    Hi..

I stopped the pill on May 1st, then got my first period back on July 13th. After that, I had a lot of pregnancy symptoms: being tired, sleeping a lot, vomiting, sore breasts, and peeing a lot. Sometimes I even wet my pants because I had to pee, which made me laugh.

So I took a test on 9/9 and it was positive, so I'm already 2 months pregnant without even knowing it

Here, 19 months after stopping the pill due to missed periods. Seems like I have pretty severe PCOS..!
So I only got pregnant after fertility treatments.
I had a lot of symptoms, but was never pregnant.
Good luck, hopefully you'll conceive soon.

Maybe I'll do a test just to be sure. I usually get sore breasts before my period, but this is really extreme—I can barely take a step without pain. Pretty unpleasant too...

Dana, that sounds like it’s been quite a job. That UTI in the diaper is indeed scary. But glad you found out now, that saves a lot of uncertainty. I wish you a healthy pregnancy. Enjoy the baby you’re already calling so hard.
