Hi everyone, I stopped the pill in February 2015 because my boyfriend and I are trying to conceive. Since stopping the pill, my cycle has been very irregular. My last period was on July 13, 2015, and since then I haven't had any signs of menstruation. I went to the doctor for an ultrasound and everything looked fine. The doctor also wanted me to have a blood test to check if everything was okay. Everything was normal, but the pregnancy test was negative. I've been using ovulation tests since October, but I can't figure out when I ovulate (or if I even do). Does anyone have experience with this? Any tips for me? Let me know.

Lots of love, xxx

It's all so exciting.. There's probably someone here who can give you some info about it..

If you're using ovulation tests, you can pretty much see when your ovulation should be, right? That's what ovulation tests are for..

But she always only gets faint lines, will she ovulate then? Three days in a row of faint lines and then suddenly no line at all... But not having a period since June 13th already seems weird to me..

So she either has ovulation or doesn't at all. The doctor said on the ultrasound they could see that she does ovulate, so I find it all very strange..

Yeah, every body is different, right? If it's that unusual, you'd best see a doctor or a specialist. They can take a look.

Yeah exactly, then they often do an internal exam, but you usually know what's going on. And about how and why your period stays away or about that ovulation..

Yesss, I had an ultrasound and they could see my follicles, and the doctor also said my period could be coming soon. But just to be safe, I still had to go get a blood test. I also have that calendar app, and it says I'll ovulate tomorrow. So tomorrow I'll test, and if nothing comes up, I'll call the doctor because I really want to know what's going on now.

It's just weird and it just makes you insecure,

I also had really weird and irregular cycles. They were 73, 52, 39, 72 days, and the last one was supposed to be 35, but then I found out I was pregnant.

The first 3 were without ovulation tests, and it drove me crazy. You expect your period and it just doesn't come. With the 4th cycle, I had a positive ovulation test on cycle day 55, and 17 days later my period.

For the last round, I started testing with ovulation tests around day 12, and I had a positive ovulation test on cycle day 20 (my ovulation tests are on my profile). On cycle day 35, I had a positive pregnancy test.

A faint line is not a positive ovulation test; the test line needs to be just as dark and thick as the control line.

And without ovulation, there's no period, so if you haven't had your period since June, it seems like you haven't ovulated yet.. After stopping contraception, it's possible that everything needs time to get back on track. This can take up to a year.

I did take some ovulation tests. A couple were a bit dark, but not like the control strip. Since yesterday, they've only gotten lighter. I haven't had my period since July 13th. I've taken ovulation tests every time, but never got a thick line (unfortunately). The doctor said I did ovulate and that my period would come soon, but still no sign.

It's possible that your ovulation tests aren't turning dark because you've already missed the peak.

Just ask your doctor again.. I don't know either, they didn't want to check anything earlier than after a year for me. I ended up being pregnant after 8 months.

Good luck with it! I know how uncertain it makes you feel!

Yesss, I'll definitely call the doctor again on Tuesday! Because they say this and nothing happens,

Yeah, indeed, it makes you feel very unsure. But well, our patience will be rewarded later.
