What's a good second name for a boy?

It also depends on the combination with the last name...

That's right. I just don't dare to add the last name because there's a chance that people we know might be here. But it's a real Dutch name. Think of de Vries, Bakker.

If the last name has three syllables, including the preposition, like De Vries or De Bakker, then a second name with one syllable sounds better. So, Julian Quinn de Vries.

If the last name has one or two syllables, like Pot or Jansen, then a second name with two syllables sounds better. In that case, Julian Morris Pot or Julian Morris Jansen.

I know a girl named Quinny and another named Quinnievere, and I'm watching The Bold and there's a woman named Quinn there too. So I think it's a real girl's name! How did you come up with that hahaha.. Then maybe Morris..

If you're saying that you find Quinn prettier for a surname with 3 sounds, including a preposition, and you give De Vries as an example? Hmm ok. I think De Vries really only has 2 syllables..

Sorry, I meant De Bakker and wrote De Vries...
  7. gerbera #8

Thanks! I can definitely work with that

Y... Quinn is often used as a boy's name. It's a unisex name. In America, it's often given to girls, and in Ireland, it's a real boy's name.

Yeah, that could be true, Gerbera, but you're asking for an opinion here, so I'll give you mine.. I think it's a girl's name, and you're asking for an opinion on Quinn or Morris, so here it is: Morris.
  9. gerbera #10

That's totally fine! Just explain it quickly

I think Morris looks nicer after it. Because then you don't have two n's at the end. And if you're really really unsure, just go for both Julian Morris Quinn de Vries could work really well! Or of course Julian Quinn Morris. But anyway, to get to the point, I'd go for Julian Morris. Nice name by the way, Julian!

Oh and by the way, I know a lot of brothers named Julian and Quinten. Maybe Quinten is still an option if you want two syllables, but Quinn as a name. Although you probably already thought of that yourself.
  12. y Guest #13

I also know a few boys named Quintin or Quinten. I think that's definitely a boy's name. And then, with a Julian and a Dutch last name, my opinion leans toward Morris.

Thanks Emme! I really appreciate this. Yes, we also think Julian is super. Luckily, we're on the same page about that.

My preference is also for Morris, but my husband thinks Quinn is more beautiful. However, we do think that name is nice as a middle name for a potential second child someday. It's really nice to hear opinions from other ladies. Otherwise, it'll just be Julian de ... Without a middle name We have plenty of girl names, but we're still looking for boy names.
  14. ii Guest #15

And I only know Quinn as a boy's name
  15. marcha Guest #16

Morris! I think it sounds better with Julian too. Quin also reminds me of Quinny, my best friend!
  16. gerbera #17

Thanks Marcha! Really nice to get all those reactions ????

Julian Morris sounds quite sweet, but Quinn has that tough, crisp sound. I once considered Quinn for my nephew, but stuck with the classic. It's just a matter of taste, really. I find Julian Morris a bit Disney-ish, you know? But anyway, you probably know best.
