Rhys or Niall

AnonymousGuest ·
In less than 4 weeks, our third child is coming. This time it's a boy...
Exciting!! But also the name.
It's going to be an English name because of family in England.
After a long list, there are now only 2 left...

Which one do you think is the nicest?

    Rhys. Nice Welsh name

I'm also going with Rhys. How do you pronounce it?
  3. ii Guest #4

I'd also go with Rhys. The pronunciation in Wales/England is Rhies, not Rais, I think.

It's indeed the intention to say 'Ries'...
    Love your reactions!! Super

If you actually lived there, Rhys would sound nice, yeah... But in the Netherlands, 'Ries' sounds different anyway.. Ries sounds like Dries here, or Ries as a short form of Richard.. It doesn't sound really English in the Netherlands anymore.. Then I think Niall sounds nicer. That still sounds English in the Netherlands..

I actually think Ries is really beautiful! It sounds nice and Dutch, but it's also written beautifully as Rhys! Good luck with choosing.

Sunny, the pronunciation is with a soft H, so not a hard Ries but Rhies. Almost Dutch with a touch of Welsh.
