De-pilling?

Hi everyone,

I’m new here and would love to share some experiences with you all, and of course, pick up some tips.

I stopped the pill on September 5th, and from September 9th to 14th I had my normal period. However, since September 20th I’ve been having quite a bit of brown discharge. It seems like my period is coming, but a bit less intense and not bright red. Still, we tried to have sex on September 22nd, but my “down under” is super tight—I can’t get a finger in there without pain. I’ve never experienced this before, even when I was still on the pill (for about 11 years).

Is this a symptom of coming off the pill, or is my body trying to tell me clearly that it’s not ready for a pregnancy yet...?

We haven’t tried again since then; I want to see how long the brown discharge lasts.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Best, Inge

    Hi Inge,

Did you guys have sex in the meantime?

I stopped the pill on Sept 3rd. Since I'd been taking it continuously (for PMS), I don't know my natural cycle. I had a bit of light discharge 4 days after stopping, but no real period.
We were intimate on Sept 11th.

I also feel super sensitive down there, both my intestines and uterus.
I don't think it's a sign that your body isn't ready for pregnancy, but more that your body needs to get used to its own cycle. The pill creates a fake cycle, so your body is a bit confused right now.

    Hey Pixielove,

Nope, no more attempts since yesterday. My brown discharge/bleeding has stopped, so we're going to try again now.
In the meantime, my nipples have become quite sore and sensitive; the slightest touch hurts. Well, yeah, it's tender and uncomfortable.

Normally, if I were still on the pill, I'd get my period next week (week 41). Curious to see what happens next week
