What a story.. Of course it's not all bliss after such a delivery.. How terrible for you! Placenta delivered by hand, baby stuck and also a concussion and a bruised eye for your baby! What stress that must have been for you! Having a baby is already a life-changing event and as a new mother you already have stress let alone with such a delivery! I completely understand that your pink cloud is then far to seek.. With my first everything went flawlessly and even I looked at my child those first weeks without a pink cloud.. Wondering more if this was really my baby, so unreal, was happy and so but your first baby feels so unreal that I couldn't really enjoy it either, the long nights that are so underestimated and the fear itself for cot death or something. It's a nice, wonderful but stressful experience having a first child. And especially when so much goes differently than expected like with you! Good that you've gotten over it and in the end managed to enjoy that little miracle! Nice story!
Hi, what a super thing to share your story...
I haven't had much of a pink cloud either, lots of drama with family...
Nothing from my partner's family...
Very intense...
But luckily things are getting better now...
Good to read that you've made it clear...
Wishing you lots of strength and once again, super that you're speaking up...
Super, Mai, really good of you to share this with others. Women and mothers, I have deep respect for that. I myself got a lot of help from my husband. But for example, the nights, I had to do the feeding myself. He did the rest, changing her and giving her a bath. It was really intense, the BV, she also drank a lot. Because of the sleep deprivation, I also suffered a lot from postpartum tears. My husband wanted to give her the bottle so I could recharge and sleep. But no, stubborn as I am, I insisted on doing it myself. I really wanted her to breastfeed, I wanted to give her a good start so badly that I kept going with breastfeeding. But it was really hard with the postpartum tears. I also didn't dare to complain because I had a good pregnancy and the little one wasn't an overly crying baby either. Just by the book. But still, I suffered terribly from postpartum tears, spontaneous crying fits, I felt empty and strangely missed her even when she wasn't in my belly anymore, a painful empty feeling. I also worried a lot about whether she would be very happy later in life. All kinds of strange emotions mixed together. With the second, exactly the same. Now that I'm pregnant with the third, I'm trying to prepare myself as much as possible in advance for the postpartum tears. I think it comes from the fact that hormones are very high during pregnancy and then drop significantly after birth. So that's probably the cause often too. But anyway, great, Mai, that you wanted to share this with us. Many women will recognize themselves in this. Greetings, Madelene
@madelene:
Congratulations on your 3rd pregnancy!!
Postpartum tears are normal Don't do anything about it! I could cry all day... Bizarre!! I was completely overwhelmed by all the emotions! Didn't know it would be so intense! Nobody tells you that! I want to put an end to that! Because it's just intense, heavy, and exhausting! That doesn't mean you don't love your baby a lot either, even if you don't feel it right away! So if someone in my circle is pregnant now, I'll tell them it's tough. All that chatter about the fantastic pink cloud hahaha
Fortunately, I have him double and triple now!!
No wonder you weren't on a pink cloud; I don't think any woman would feel otherwise after such a tough birth.
Mine went perfectly, and I had a passing black cloud.
Especially at night, I felt alone. My husband was sleeping at home, and suddenly I had to take care of that little one all by myself? I often felt lonely and wrecked too. I think that's more than normal.
Now my son is 2.5 years old, and I'm 39 weeks pregnant with a little girl.
I'm less scared of the postpartum tears, but they could just as well come back.
We're superwomen and supermoms, but in the end, we're only human
