What are your symptoms?

Hi everyone,

I stopped the pill 3 months ago due to hormonal issues, not necessarily to get pregnant. For 3 months, my husband and I used protection, but during our vacation last week, we got carried away in the moment and decided to leave it up to the universe.

My last period started on August 23rd (I was about 5 days into my period). We had unprotected sex on August 30th (withdrawal) and September 5th (ejaculated inside). I never really tracked my cycle or ovulation, so I didn't know when I was most fertile. I looked it up later and found out that my fertility was highest between September 3rd and September 7th.
On September 6th, I suddenly had intense period-like symptoms. Severe cramps in my ovaries and I just felt different. For the past 3 days, I've had very sensitive nipples (which I never have normally). I've never really had symptoms of ovulation (or maybe I just never noticed).

Now, of course, I hope I'm pregnant, and somewhere deep down, I feel like I might be (even though I've never been pregnant before). But my mom says it's best to wait until I actually expect my period to start testing. What are your thoughts and experiences on this? How soon after ovulation did you test? I think today is 4 days past ovulation.

Looking forward to your replies!!

If you're 4 days past ovulation, a test is indeed still too early. If the egg has already been fertilized, it still needs to implant. This can take a few days. Some tests can be taken 4 days before your expected period, but waiting to see if your period comes is still more reliable. If your period doesn't come, then you could take a test.
