Hi everyone,

I'm now in my third trimester (33 weeks pregnant). My partner and I bought a house together (the transfer was on April 15, 2015). There was a lot of work to be done, and I helped out a lot during that time. Now we finally live here, but there are still so many things to unpack, clean, and sort out. The baby's room is almost ready to be furnished, but there's still a mess everywhere, just like in the rest of the house.

Since we moved in (around 30 weeks pregnant), I've just completely burned out and have almost no energy left for anything. I try to explain this to my boyfriend regularly, but he doesn't understand why I'm so tired... He says things like, "You can watch TV on the couch, play games, and sit on your phone, but you don't even help clean up or unpack." And when we talk about it, he doesn't get it and gets angry...

I'm finding that because of this, I'm no longer enjoying my pregnancy, and it's making me a bit unhappy...

I'd really like to prepare myself mentally for having a baby (relax, prepare for labor, and recover from the busy period). But when I try to do that now, I feel guilty, and my partner acts vague and shows he's angry without saying anything...

Does anyone relate to this, or does anyone have tips for me??

Best,
YoshkaJ

btw... I cleaned the shower and toilet yesterday... I'm doing it at a relaxed pace though... it's just exhausting and your belly gets in the way... my boyfriend has to laugh a bit when I sit on the edge of the bath to catch my breath after just scrubbing the floor and toilet or when I arrive panting upstairs after climbing two flights of stairs with the laundry basket

and that doesn't even come close to moving! maybe your boyfriend should just read the reactions you're getting here later hihi

Exactly what Lies said, pregnancy is exhausting enough as it is! I'm 23 weeks tomorrow, and this morning I thoroughly cleaned the bathroom, dusted the whole upper floor, and vacuumed. While I was at it, I also vacuumed the kitchen, and afterward I really wasn't feeling well. I had to lie down for a quarter of an hour. Luckily, my husband understands this; he sometimes gets mad at me because I want to do too much in one day.

Have him read some articles about how your body is constantly working during pregnancy; then he'll start to understand, right?

Unfortunately, I don't have any real tips for you, I just think it's really rude that your friend reacts like that.

    What a nasty situation, wow..

On TV you sometimes see those fake bellies, they put them on men. Maybe an idea, then he can feel what you feel. Then he can get to work with a big belly of a few kilos. No idea if you can rent those or something..

Let him read the reactions here indeed.....because it's just stupid that he doesn't understand that you're tired.
You're damn well growing a child that carries it for a whole day while your whole body works differently because of the hormones!!! Dp
My husband was luckily very different....he barely allowed me to do anything at the end....and he was full of praise for how I endured the pregnancy despite fatigue and other ailments without much complaining..
