tummy cramps

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have had stomach cramps for weeks. First, I get hard contractions, then I have to go to the toilet with almost diarrhea. I feel very weak and can't find my footing at all. My baby is turning a lot too, and I have stabbing pains in my stomach and vagina. I've also had heartburn for months. I've tried a lot: eating small portions, drinking milk, nothing helps. Is all this normal? I'm really at my wit's end.

Hi Eraly, the last few weeks do indeed come with more 'issues'. I had a ton of heartburn in the last 6 weeks. Heartburn, heartburn, and more heartburn. I don't know if that's also the case for you. If not, maybe just drop by your midwife for a check-up.

    Hey early,

The reason you feel so dizzy and tired is because the baby is truly taking EVERYTHING from your body to grow. It takes everything it can use from you, which can be very exhausting! Your blood pressure can also fluctuate a lot because of this, making you feel dizzy. So, quickly lie down on your left side, and after a while, it should pass. Drinking a glass of fruit juice can also help. I've had a lot of this myself too.

I also have those hard bellies and painful twinges, I think those are just the false contractions. They can sometimes hurt quite a bit! Last night I really thought, "Now it's started," but I crawled into bed and in the end, it passed.

Heartburn is another thing. I've been taking Maalox for months, prescribed by the gynecologist, because I suffer terribly from it. They say it goes away when the baby drops, but it's already been dropped for several weeks and I still have a lot of it, so it will probably last until he's out

I hope this gives you a little encouragement, you're definitely not the only one suffering from ailments! Not fun, huh

    Many greetings

    Hi Eraly,
I'm now 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant and have been experiencing cramps, hard bellies, and false labor contractions for quite some time. That can really hurt, right! My midwife gave me the tip to eat a few salty licorice candies and drink something with sugar if I feel dizzy. If possible, lie on your side for a bit. This is because you might have low blood pressure and low sugar levels at that moment. I hope this helps you!

Wishing you all the best with the final stretch! Before you know it, you'll have your little one in your arms. I hope mine will be here soon—I can hardly wait!

    Big hugs,
