pain on the left side of the ribs

Since today I've had the feeling that I have bruised ribs, does anyone else recognize this?
(Strange thing is that it comes in waves, and to say that the little man puts a lot of pressure on it, no.)
It's actually on the upper left side!

The little one has dropped down. According to my OB-GYN, that's why... Luckily, everything was fine again. I'm also having a lot of pain in my groin when turning around (round ligament pain). I can hardly wait any longer!

    Hi Celste,

Could it be that the little one gave you a few kicks against your ribs? That can really bruise your ribs, I've heard.

Good luck with the final stretch!

    Thanks for your reply!
According to my OB-GYN, it’s because the baby has dropped down..
But it could very well be true because Mr. kicks a lot towards that spot..
    So far it’s still sensitive..
but I’m just going to keep thinking like this for a little longer

    Hi Celeste,

How would that work? If the baby drops down, they'll definitely get stuck in your pelvis. I wonder how you'd then get pain in your ribs? :-)

Maybe the baby can kick harder once they've dropped and are 'stuck' in place. Then they can push off better.

Good luck with your last few weeks, girl!

    I think so, haha
I'm already happy that the little one is doing well, I'll keep going

    Celes,

I totally relate to this from my previous pregnancy, and it really was because my little man was kicking my ribs black and blue! ;-)!

Good luck with the final stretch!

Hi everyone, I'm also really struggling with my right ribs. The little girl is kicking really hard.
I still remember it from my other daughter back in 2009—sometimes the pain is so bad I could cry.
Luckily, my gynecologist said I can take paracetamol for the pain.
Strength to everyone who's going through this.
    Greetings!

I've had pain in my right rib for a few months now. And my midwife said that once the baby drops, it should be much less. Now I'm 39 weeks pregnant and the little one still hasn't dropped, and I still have rib pain.

I'm now 25+3 weeks and have had pain in my left ribs for over a week and a half. The weird thing is that it mainly starts up in the evening, and by the time I get into bed, it hurts so much that I can't sleep. It doesn't matter if I'm lying down or sitting—the pain stays. I have an appointment with my midwife next week, so I'm curious what she'll say. Maybe it's also due to the baby dropping, although it feels too early to me.
