Movements

Hi everyone,
I'm now 34 weeks pregnant and everywhere I read that you'll feel your baby kick and move much less now, but that's far from the truth. Last night, he was definitely busy kicking for 3 hours straight without stopping. I started getting really worried that something was wrong or that there was a problem. I even thought I might go into labor that night... Are there other women who've experienced this? It's probably all normal, otherwise I wouldn't be on the PC right now, but it still felt strange because you hear everywhere that you feel them move much less now. Our baby also had hiccups several times in one day. Does that happen often for you guys too?
Greetings

    Hi Inge,

They're not moving less because they're becoming calmer, but because they have less space. When they really let loose like they did yesterday with you, it can indeed feel intense. I don't think there's anything to worry about. On the contrary.

And the hiccups, yes, mine had them daily too :-) They're just drinking too greedily.

    Love, Astrid

    Hi Inge,
My first sign that something wasn't normal was when it felt like my belly was suddenly tearing open. He did this until just before the birth. Yeah, nothing to worry about. Just enjoy it (even if it can feel a bit uncomfortable sometimes).
    Greetings

    Hey Inge.

I'm also exactly 34 weeks today. And my little one only kicks when I take a break and lie down on the couch. She also seems to be sitting very high because it feels really tight and like she's bursting under my chest. And just like you wrote, the hiccups are a weird feeling, right, that tapping. But sometimes I feel her a lot and other times a bit less. Don't worry.

You're not the only one :-) I'm now 32 weeks and three days, and mine is moving plenty too. When I read that they had less space to move and you'd feel the baby less, I had to laugh a bit :-) Ours can do that too, sometimes kicking and punching for three or four hours straight, and she's doing it all night long too, even a good week before :-)

Thanks everyone for the replies. I’m feeling a bit reassured now. The stomach ache has also improved; I think he’s dropped down quite a bit by now, which probably caused the pain. Our little guy has had the nickname “Stampertje” ever since I first felt him move, because he was so active, so I guess he just wants to live up to his name Good luck with your pregnancies! It’s all so exciting, isn’t it?

Hi, I'm Nathalie. Exercise isn't going so well anymore, but most people say you should keep moving. My question is whether that's really a good idea.
