35 weeks pregnant and lost the mucus plug

Hi ladies,

I'm exactly 35 weeks pregnant today..
Yesterday I noticed a bit more fluid loss than usual..
Didn't pay much attention to it.
Tonight I realized my underwear was really wet..
It wasn't urine.
I changed it and told my boyfriend..
He wanted me to call the midwife just to be safe.
I went to the toilet again an hour later and noticed I was wiping out a string of mucus.
Called the midwife and she suspected amniotic fluid and indeed a piece of my mucus plug.. I don't need to worry. Just keep an eye on it.
Now I've read different stories about the mucus plug and labor and it can still take a few weeks..

But suddenly I feel short of breath (have to take a good deep breath now and then) and cramps in my back (between and under my shoulder blades) and very light stabs in my vagina.
Does anyone recognize this??

I recognize this; your blood pressure might have risen. I had these symptoms too, actually, due to high blood pressure. It needs to be monitored, and your urine should be tested for protein. If your blood pressure keeps going up a little each day, it could lead to pre-eclampsia. It doesn't have to be that way, though—it wasn't for me either—but getting your blood pressure and urine checked is preventive. If it's still like this tomorrow, you'd better call your midwife. Strength.
