When does the baby drop?

Hi mamas,

For the past few days, I've mainly been getting twinges at night and in the evening in my vagina. It feels like the baby is sticking her hand out, saying "hi there." It's not really a pleasant feeling.

Could this mean she's already engaging? I'm currently 31+4 weeks pregnant, or is this still too early?
I've had the feeling from the start that she's going to be born earlier than the due date of January 29th.

Thanks in advance.

It might have already dropped, I think. Mine hasn’t done it yet, so unfortunately I can’t really share the feeling with you... You seem to feel more pressure on your pelvis and vagina too, and some people feel the baby’s head sitting really low, like a ball between their legs or something.

I also thought I’d give birth earlier. Well, don’t get too excited though, because I’m already 39 weeks and haven’t felt any contractions or anything yet Even though I had a really strong start from the beginning thinking she’d come early. Well, not so much! Haha.

On average, a baby drops between 30 weeks and birth... but this doesn't say anything about when labor will start.

At my birth, 37 weeks and 4 days, my water broke at night, so I had to call the midwife and stay in bed. My son hadn't engaged yet. During the birth, I pushed for 25 minutes and he was here. Not every baby engages. No fear, it'll be fine. I was just allowed to walk to the bathroom. The midwife said no, I had to go to the hospital because he had pooped in the amniotic fluid.

    Thanks for your replies.
It’s super scary hihi, my boyfriend and I don’t live together, we’re 2.5 hours apart but we’re working hard on moving in together, luckily. Often I’m alone at night and when I feel that rumbling, I don’t feel completely okay.
Hope she stays in for quite a while longer

Hmm, that's pretty exciting, isn't it? So far apart...
Will it stay like that? Or will you all be together as a little family soon?

The baby still hasn't dropped here. 39+1... sigh. I know
it doesn't matter, but when it has dropped, it somehow feels
    like it's closer

I'm also at exactly the same 39th week and it hasn't dropped yet. This is my second son, though.

At my 28-week ultrasound, the gynecologist said he was already in a good position and even dropped a bit. It's different for everyone and every pregnancy.

    Hi ladies,
I'm now 30 weeks and 3 days pregnant.
I'm mainly experiencing darkening towards my groin area, which is indeed just like when you think it's going to happen (of course it's not, but it's a weird, odd feeling).
    This is my first baby.
I'm also having a lot of discomfort in my buttocks when I sit upright. I'm not very tall. On Tuesday they said everything was fine and the baby's head was positioned low, but now it's Tuesday again, a few days later, so I'm really having trouble sitting and walking, with kicks against my ribs. I could get cranky from this because it really hurts.

Are other girls experiencing this too?
    Such an exciting time.
I can't wait for our little miracle girl to arrive.
