not buying a Maxi-Cosi?

Hi hi

Do you think it’s wise to skip the Maxi-Cosi and go straight for a 0-18kg car seat?

There are several available at Carrefour this week at very affordable prices. But I’m wondering about the safety of these seats at that price point, especially since branded car seats in the same category cost at least €350... :-s

Has anyone had experience with Carrefour car seats or branded 0-18kg seats?

According to the new European guidelines, it’s actually wise to keep your baby facing backward for as long as possible.
Up to 13 kg and/or until the ears reach the top edge of the Maxi-Cosi, they can still use a Maxi-Cosi. The new recommendation is to keep your child facing backward until they’re at least 15 months old.

indeed, just buy a car seat size 0, it's about the safety of your baby..
car seat size 0 (of any brand, it doesn't have to be Maxi-Cosi) is even considered a "must-have" just like the crib/bed and changing table

For the first few weeks, you can also rent a Maxi-Cosi carrycot in which your baby can lie down (better than sitting). https://www.babyloop.nl/product/reiswieg-auto-huren/
