Massaging the cervix

Hi mamas and soon-to-be mamas!

I'm 39w+5 and it's finally time for baby to come!
Today I visited my OB-GYN and I had (just like last week) a 1 cm dilation.
She performed a cervical massage during an internal exam. It was quite painful , but I was willing to try anything .

Has anyone here experienced this? Did labor progress quickly after that, or did you have to wait for several days?

Thanks in advance!

Pfff, that sounds pretty painful too... I don't know what it is, but I'm being induced on Saturday with my second baby, which is new for me too. It must be really painful. I hope the little one comes soon!!

Massaged or do you mean stripped?
Stripping can actually give that little push that starts your labor.

Wishing you a smooth labor! Since it's my first, my midwife wants to wait as long as possible.

She mentioned massaging the cervix. I looked it up and apparently it's linked to membrane stripping. But my waters haven't broken or anything. I just have an 'open' feeling

    Thank you!
    I'm hesitating about wonder oil!

I tried Wonderolie too, but it really didn't work for me, and it's super messy haha
I gave birth myself at 39+6

Sex helped us out... Less than 24 hours later, the contractions started. I had already been experiencing rumblings for weeks.

Hi. I'm now 40w + 1 and I have to admit I'm more than fed up. Yesterday I went for hours of walking, went up and down the stairs 100 times. This morning I had sex again. I feel like I'm sinking deeper and deeper into a pit.
