placental calcification

Hi everyone!
I'm almost 38 weeks pregnant and we had an ultrasound yesterday..
I asked how the placenta was doing because I had heard some bad things about it, and the gynecologist said there were 3 small spots of calcification visible..
He checked the blood flow through the umbilical cord and it was fine, the amount of amniotic fluid was also okay, and it looks like our little one is still doing well..
Now I'm just a bit worried, can that calcification happen quickly? And is there anything you can do about it? I don't smoke and eat healthily..
Thanks!

If you're feeling anxious, I think it's best to call your OB-GYN again and ask some more questions...
I don't think there's much you can do about it, and if it were something serious, your OB-Gyn would probably want to see you more often.
Wishing you lots of luck with the last few weeks!
