Why wear compression stockings after giving birth?

Hi,
I had some trouble with swollen veins and wore compression stockings (class 2) during my pregnancy. Now I read that you should keep wearing them for about 6 weeks after giving birth. How should you wear them during the postpartum period? Best regards

I'd say you should check with your GP or midwife about that. I can imagine you'll need to keep wearing them for a bit longer since your body doesn't just stop producing those hormones overnight, which can cause your veins to swell.
