Pain between the shoulder blades and vomiting everything

sarahGuest ·
I'm 38 weeks and 1 day pregnant today, and I've had severe pain between my shoulder blades for over a week. Plus, right before bed, everything I've eaten (from breakfast to dinner) comes back up, so I always go to bed with an empty stomach.

The pain is unbearable. Is this normal (e.g., due to the weight in my belly)?

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there anything I can do? I can't sit, lie down, or stand—it's driving me crazy.

Oh yeah, I don't feel the baby moving either (just very lightly at the moment). I'm used to it moving non-stop, but it could also be because the baby has less space now... I'd love to hear from you all.

    Thanks!

No experience, but I’d definitely reach out to your midwife/gynecologist. Vomiting every night before bed doesn’t sound right, and the pain between your shoulder blades isn’t either! If it turns out to be nothing serious, maybe get a massage from a trained masseuse or try a moxa treatment for your shoulders—it works wonders!

About the vomiting, she said it was normal because the baby presses against your stomach, and that I should eat small amounts. I do that, but it just comes right back up.

My shoulder blades are only getting worse. I went grocery shopping briefly to forget about the pain, but now I'm back and it's really bad again.

Pain between your shoulder blades can come from your gallbladder! Maybe an inflammation or a stone?

And what did she say about you not feeling the baby enough?

I also suddenly got severe pain between my shoulder blades around 37 weeks.
Nothing helped: lying on my back/side, sitting in the armchair/on a straight chair, standing up straight, a warm bath, a cherry pit cushion, ...
I eventually lay down on the bed, on my husband's side (his slatted base is set to 'hard' and then the pain suddenly disappeared. I think I lay on the bed for about an hour and haven't had it so severe since then. Occasionally I get a dull ache between my shoulder blades, but not as bad as that time.

The physio said it could also be due to posture, which put too much strain on my back. Now I pay attention to my posture and have much less pain
