induce or not

I just want to get something off my chest. I have gestational diabetes and the baby is already above the weight limit. Now the OB wants to induce labor at 38 weeks. I don't see it as a big deal, but the specialists monitoring my sugar are making a big deal out of it. They want me to have a C-section because they think I won't be able to handle it physically. Who actually makes the decision here? I feel like I'm being tossed around from one place to another.

    Hey Anneke,
I also have gestational diabetes, but I won’t know more about induction or not until next week. I have to go for a check-up with the OB-GYN. Why do those specialists think you won’t be able to handle it physically? Personally, I think the OB-GYN has the most say on this, maybe in consultation with the endocrinologist, but I believe the final decision lies with the OB-GYN.

That decision is completely up to you!!
It's just that they can give you advice.
But they can't decide for you whether you can handle it, right? It sounds incredibly demotivating to me.
For me, it would be a reason to definitely try it myself!!
You can handle so much more than you think, and personally, I'm proud afterward that it worked out.
I think you should base your decision on what's best for the baby.
Why not try a natural birth, but keep a cesarean section as a backup?
    Good luck with the decision!!
    Love, Olivia

Thanks, I've decided for myself that the gynecologist is the one who has been following you for 9 months and even longer, and I'm going to try it that way. If there are complications, then it'll be a C-section. I don't think the endocrinologist should decide about this; they're just taking money out of your pocket every week for a 10-minute check-up to monitor your values, weight, and blood pressure.

I completely agree with what Olivia says!

It's your body and your baby, so I think you should be able to decide for yourself how you want to bring your child into the world. I just think that the doctor is portrayed so poorly here, as if they only care about filling their pockets and not acting in the best interest of the baby and the mother. That 10-minute check isn't to fill their pockets, but to prevent other complications from occurring.

I also have gestational diabetes and I don't want the baby to be too heavy, because what goes in must also come out, right? How much does your baby weigh now? I'm 34 weeks pregnant, but according to the ultrasounds, it's 35 weeks. Three weeks ago, the baby was 42 cm and 2 kg.
    Greetings

Went to the gynecologist today. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and the baby weighs 2kg. He told me you can't determine in advance whether you can physically handle it or not; you'll only find out during labor.
