Birth
Océane has been born.
Hi everyone!
Our little girl, Océane, was born on Friday.
Thursday around midnight, the contractions started every 10 minutes.
I got up so I wouldn't wake my husband; this lasted until 6:30 AM when the contractions became every 5 minutes, and we left for the hospital (half an hour from our house).
By the time we got there, the contractions were every 2-3 minutes, and I was already 5 cm dilated. I asked for an epidural because the contractions were coming too fast.
I also got a Baxter with antibiotics because I tested positive for streptococcus. After 4 hours, at 12:45 PM, I needed a second one.
At 12 PM, I was already 9 cm dilated, and we were worried that the second Baxter wouldn't be able to be administered.
But the last centimeter took until 5 PM. In the meantime, I got oxytocin to induce labor.
Then at 1:30 PM, I pushed again, got more oxytocin, and eventually, she was born with a vacuum extractor. The midwife was on top of me, pushing on my belly. She was a star-gazer with the widest part of her head first, so she needed help.
And now, we're enjoying our little miracle.
