Dilation

Hi!
I've had a lot of hard contractions since week 15 (I'm now 32 w), so it's been going on for a while. I can easily have 7 in an hour (not every hour though!) I think I have at least 5 or 6 per day. I discuss this often with the midwife, and one person just has more trouble with it than another. Especially lately I notice that I quickly get a hard contraction as soon as he moves; I think I have a sensitive uterus, he's of course also much stronger and bigger now.

Hard contractions are usually a sign that you should take it easier, so rest more every day (according to the midwife, you should really lie down for a bit). Stress or worrying a lot about everything can also give you more hard contractions.
So take some rest every day (a few times), lie down, breathe calmly, maybe that's enough to have fewer hard contractions

Oh, I just read that you're already taking it easy! In that case... I've read a lot about it on pregnancy forums too, with more women who had issues but ended up having their babies at a safe time. I hope everything goes well for you too I think you can also ask questions from midwives on this site! You'll get a bit more reassurance.

    Hi Hanne.
    Same here, girl...
I had my first check-up when I was just 31 weeks and our girl was already 1,800kg and 42cm... No internal exam then... I had to go back at 35 weeks and 2 days and she also said that I had 1-2.5cm dilation... This wasn't harmful but I had to rest and take it easy, but I can still do daily tasks, just in small chunks like cleaning takes me 2-3 days now... I have super frequent contractions no matter if I'm standing, lying down, sitting or walking they always come... Also dull menstrual-like pains in my lower back pulling into my leg and stinging in my groin I get very often combined with cramps... Now if our girl was born she would have weighed 2,500kg already... The length wasn't measured by the gynecologist then either and she was fully engaged already but that was at 31 weeks... So... I now have to keep an eye out if I get one hard contraction every 5 minutes for an hour I need to go to the hospital... I don't really have much pain just a weird feeling but my gynecologist already said what you're doing now you shouldn't suffer during your delivery... Normally I'm supposed to give birth on January 21st but my due date has been shifted twice... Once to January 14th and the last time to January 7th... And now I hope my gynecologist will let me stretch it out by at least 2 weeks so it's 2013... And I've been home since my 5th month of pregnancy and I rest a lot because I was going through my legs for no reason... Everything was perfect in order sugar blood test... So a mystery... Now I have to go back within 14 days on January 4th to see how far it is now... But I feel it working every day... And our girl is super active:-) and she's still comfortably inside... The gynecologist also said there's still a chance despite the dilation that we can still go overdue... and those hard contractions were good she said they just shouldn't start hurting! So girl just take it easy everything at a slower pace... And listen to your body... I always take a siesta in the afternoon of 2-3 hours where I lie on the couch and during my daily activities I take a 15-20 minute break every hour sometimes even longer if I feel it's necessary...
Girl good luck with your pregnancy and for you it's all exciting too...
Enjoy as much as you can with your baby she's so close:-)
Lots of love and happy holidays Daphne
