3rd trimester
Contractions aren't progressing.

Hi everyone,
I'm new here... I don't want to call my OB/GYN every time I have questions, so this seemed like a good alternative. Obviously, it's different for everyone, but I like hearing about others' experiences.
I'm 39w4d pregnant today (2nd baby, son is 6.5y). I've had a terrible pregnancy. All the ailments, hospital admissions, falling off the stairs, etc. Anyway! Since last Thursday I thought I lost my mucus plug. Because now every time I go to the toilet, there's a blob of snot on my paper... since then I've also had contractions, coming every 10 minutes but then disappearing for hours. The OB checked and I was almost 4cm dilated. To help me along, she stripped my membranes yesterday. After stripping, I quickly got severe menstrual cramps, and again 'more intense' contractions. Last night they stopped again... what do I do with this
? I'm starting to lose hope, and my body is getting very tired. Of course, I do want to be ready for the real work...
Love,
Ashly
