Maternity care hours!?

Oh wow, that’s awful! Can’t you quickly check with your midwife if she knows anything about it? Unfortunately, I don’t have any experience with this myself. How’s the pregnancy going?

Yeah, same problem here. Also due in September. According to VK, the issue is equally big across all agencies—they’re noticing that caregivers only come for max half a day. Legally, 24 hours are required, so yeah, it’s possible there just aren’t enough maternity care nurses anymore. It’s just frustrating.

I’ve already found another office where I’ll get at least 5 to 6 hours a day. They’re trying to make it a full 8 hours, but 5 hours is guaranteed.

Great that you found another agency! It's so frustrating how hard it is right now.

I chose a nanny for this pregnancy because I kept hearing those stories about fewer hours everywhere. With two other kids running around, we really do need the extra help. Unfortunately, you always have to be quick to secure a nanny spot. I reserved a spot right after getting the positive test.
