Thirsty, thirsty, thirsty

Hi! I'm 36 weeks pregnant now and I've been incredibly thirsty all day. I don't even drink from glasses anymore; I'm walking around all day with a measuring cup in my hand. Now I have to go to the toilet every half hour, and besides that, I'm completely swollen because I'm retaining fluid... I was tested for sugar a while back and everything was fine, so I was wondering if anyone knows what this could be? And do more women experience this?

Greetings!

If your sugar levels are good, that shouldn’t be the issue. You naturally need extra fluids now because of the increased blood volume in your body and the amniotic fluid. If you’re not sure about it, I’d suggest getting your sugar levels tested again just to be sure!

I’m saying get tested for sugar because I have it too, but mainly if I’m having issues with hyperactivity.

I’d also get tested for sugar just to be sure.
    That sounds really intense!
    Good luck

Not just getting a finger prick for blood, but also having extended sugar tests with glucose drink. And also get checked for pregnancy-induced hypertension; you can also measure your blood pressure yourself in advance, it shouldn't be too high.

I’d also get tested for gestational diabetes. Good luck!

    Hi hi,
I had exactly the same thing, and then they did an extended sugar test again for the 3rd time during this pregnancy, including the lovely glucose drink. Unfortunately, I had gestational diabetes again. I've now been referred back to the gynecologist, and I need to report there tomorrow. I've already been injecting insulin for over a week now. Unfortunately, I still can't get it under control, and I feel terrible. So I'd say you should get tested again.

    Good luck
