What would really tip the scales for me. Hmm, the price, the terms (contract? e.g., what happens in case of damage), and the possibility to check out the items. And whether it's not too far from Oms.
I’d really never do that. You can make it as expensive as you want. Leasing is always more expensive, someone has to make a profit, right? I’ve never seen a used good stroller/walker. The brand you mentioned, I’ve never heard of.
You're saying short-term use. But if you have 2 kids, that's not so bad, right? The stroller gets used for half a year each time. Here, the walking stroller is still used regularly until age 3 or 4. We started using ours in January. Now we still use it regularly. At least once a week. That's already over 4 years.
I bought everything new for my second pregnancy, but after my second, we didn't want a third. Years later, my mom wanted a third baby, and we had already gotten rid of everything. So now I'm buying everything second-hand because baby stuff is really expensive and sometimes the prices are over the top. We'll buy some items new or put them on the baby registry because for certain things like bottle nipples and such, I don't feel comfortable with second-hand. We already have a buggy, park seat, swing, bouncer, and Bumbo for less than 100 euros, and they're all in very good condition. I've washed everything in the washing machine because I want it all clean for the baby.
What would really sway me is the price, calculated based on how many kids you’d want. But also the stroller model and any extras.
For one kid, a stroller etc. is a big investment, but even then (as others have pointed out) you’ll use it for about 3 years. With two kids, that’s much longer.
If I see a price of €19 per month, then after a bit more than 3 years you’re at €700. For that amount, we bought our stroller including the bassinet, seat, and even a Maxi-Cosi. We had specific requirements for the stroller (big bassinet, because likely a tall kid; pneumatic tires because we walk a lot in nature/forest/beach; adjustable handlebar height, and since we both have long legs, we kept kicking the basket under the stroller on many models) and you guys can’t provide that. The advantage of buying (new or second-hand) is that you can get exactly what you want. And you can always sell it for a nice price later on.
Conclusion: the idea is nice and I wish you lots of success, but I’m not sure if it’s a gap in the market.
Since when does someone get plenty of space here to advertise their business? Indeed; leasing has many disadvantages. Only people who don't have the money to buy something themselves will lease, but then you'd better not start having kids!
